VanBuren replied to wyantm06's topic in RoadRunner (Time Warner Cable)
you never know, but if you hit your advertised speed with non advanced steps, leave it like that, unless your a tweak geek like me and wants the very last Kbps out of the connection VanBuren -

Please help me tweak with Cablenut and Optimum Online
VanBuren replied to ledzepp14's topic in Make it Faster...
hey ledzepp14 and welcome to the forum asfar as i know OOL is 10 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up try bypassing your router, just connect your PC direct to modem via ethernet powercycle modem, leave it off for 30 full seconds and now test speed again also make a tweaktest, for "advertised speed" set it to 10000 VanBuren -
yea it says the same for me, cablenut dosent have XP as a OS option in setup, its using 2000 for XP VanBuren

hey lorne i tryed this batch without register but i got an error "11-JUL-05 22:32 [sLICEN] (10562) Failure to open licence.txt" so i made up a username, and after that runned this batch from main folder, then it worked VanBuren

my guess is that some software you using are overwriting the TcpWindowsize. I know its not TCP Optimizer, cos im also using that with XP and SP2 VanBuren
-
set Tcp1323Opts to 0 cos you dont need window scaling enabled, unless your TcpWindowsize is above 65535.... the analyzer read DefaultReceivewindow as it should, can you post a screenshot of your current cablenut settings, cos i cant see how TcpWindowsize can be "reset" to 65536, thats not a windows default value and not even multiple with MSS. also do not forget to click "save to registry" + reboot your PC after each change in cablenut ( very important ) VanBuren

run this http://forums.speedguide.net:8117/ and this http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks post results VanBuren

change DefaultReceivewindow to 64240
-
try this open cablenut, change DefaultReceivewindow to 64240 and set your tcpwindowsize, globalmaxtcpwindowsize to 64240 click save to registry and make a new tweaktest also, do you have any other tweakprogram beside cablenut installed? VanBuren

hey mwgtexas and welcome to the forum you need to set Tcp1323Opts to 1 if your using a TcpWindowSize above 65535 Tcp1323Opts - This parameter controls RFC 1323 time stamps and window-scaling options. Time stamps and window scaling are enabled by default, but can be manipulated with flag bits. Bit 0 controls window scaling, and bit 1 controls time stamps. Value Type: REG_DWORD
