  1. oh now days with the faster processors you wont notice say like from an single core to even a dual core or quad core. but yeah if your running like say a AMD 700 running win xp then yeah your going to notice a big difference with loadding pages and so forth that are graphic intensive.
  2. Funny since cable DOCSIS 2.0 isnt even able to go to 45 let alone 100mb. DOCSIS Downstream Upstream 1.x 42.88 (38) Mbit/s 10.24 (9) Mbit/s Euro 57.20 (51) Mbit/s 10.24 (9) Mbit/s 2.0 42.88 (38) Mbit/s 30.72 (27) Mbit/s 3.0 +480 Mbit/s +120 Mbit/s All though it would be nice have the 3.0 but it was just released in 2006 and i doubt that HSC companies will speed the money to upgrade.

  4. Those speeds are not cached, just thought i would let you know, your not speaking to a newbie in computer systems here lol like alot of people here are probably not even in there 20's yet lol
  5. I never used Direcway actually i dont even use dish network anymore either since anytime it rains really bad or storms, the crap goes out, not with my Cable company though . I was paying over 100 a month just for sat tv. with my cable company i have DVR, HSC and unlimited phone calling all for around 140 a month. :::.. 6. I all boils down to weather your on Cable or DSL or Sat, all major Networks are all shared so thats why its seems to be proven that there are less people up at night surfing and downloading then they are during the day. I always get alot better speeds at off peek hours.
  7. My speeds are Unrestricted/768, bascially theres no cap on my modem, the midco max package has the no back, but there lower package is capped at 10mb/512k I average around 18 to 20Mb down, i think that its do to that fact that my upload is capped at 768.
  8. I asked my ISP why our upload cant be at least 1 MB or better and they said that it all depends on what the depand is in your area basically saying that there not going up faster then the next guy in the town all though after people have been asking for faster uploads they just bumped my upload from 512 to 768 and also i have noticed faster downloads now, so that tells me the faster your upload is the better throughput you can acheive on the downside.

  11. Oh wow you are a bunch of young puppies, my b-day is the 7th
  12. yeah well mines so fast that this is what i got: Sorry, your score of 10737628 Kbps is over TestMy.net's max of 60000 Kbps. It is very doubtful your connection is faster than 60000 Kbps
  13. Yeah i highly doubt that is a accruate reading considering Charters Cap is 10MB down is the fastest package.
  14. you whish you could really go that fast with direcpc lol thats what you call a cached speed
  15. You must have one computer hooked up to the internet then have the other computers connected to the hub and then routed to use you main system to access the net??
  16. you dont like the security features of a router?? Routers do alot better routing traffic then a Hub.

  21. Back when i was in colledge we has mighty Pentiums 133 and 150 and windows 95 who and when you typed in a website you could make a pot of coffee and get back just in time for the page to get loaded up lol boy how times have changed in those few years.
  22. You know hmmmmmm never tried putting an os on a Flash drive lol i mean i know you can boot with a flash drive but i am doubtfull that it will work but you never know just plug the sucker in and put your windows disk in and see if the OS will see the flash drive as a destination source.
  23. Let me give you some advise, whatever you buy for around 800 dollars will be obsolete the next day. I would stay away from ebay when it comes with computers but thats just my opinion, you can never be sure if you buying someone elses junk. Your not going to get 2gig of ram and 120 gig hard and especially and 17inch lcd screen for less then 800 dollars. Just isnt going to happen.
