pitbull, you downgraded!

Ah, I see, but German is pretty consistent with its grammatical rules, unlike English, and proper English is not learned through speaking to people, since nobody speaks proper English anymore.
-
And you say this because you speak German?
-
Moving it to a different place with a longer ethernet cable might be possible, but it will be risky in my situation (long story, has nothing to do with the actual physical networking).
-
I may call the manufacturer, but I'm not sure what to say........... Do you think buying a new antenna would make a drastic improvement? EDIT: If I move it closer, it's fine. :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 2965 Kbps about 2.97 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 362 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 254 Kbps about 0.25 Mbps (tested with 579 kB) Upload Speed is:: 31 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Server 1) Test Time:: 2006/08/26 - 12:12pm D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-2L3I4WOAF U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-SN3M6RDAQ User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 [!] It must be the signal strength. Should I get a new antenna? Would it help?

Someone else. But like I said, it's consistent, every game I play. It's the same kind of lag too. I know it's the wireless bridge.
-
OK, I bought it, and have had it for a couple days now, and when I play Halo 2 on Xbox Live, it's really laggy. Consistently. This is a problem I didn't have with my Xbox wireless adapter (MN-740). What can I do to fix the problem?
-
wildace, that's a cached test. Clear your cache and try this test.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about, but with IE 7 it will start even further through the test than it normally does, and it'll give me results that I know are at least partially fake, like 3.5 Mbps. I know my line isn't capable of that.
-
I don't know how, but I've had tests that were 'partially cached' before, like right when I started the test it would already be at like 10% finished. I didn't even have to use the back or refresh button, it just automatically happened with IE 7. If you're using IE 7 try testing with IE 6 or FF. It is possible, though, that they over capped you or bumped you up to the 3/384 package whether by accident or on purpose.

A comparison of the two speed tests using my home connection... Yeah, I'll give them that, it's probably the second best well know speed test out there, but TMN is #1! -
Just an excuse for me to post speed tests.... The Speakeasy/Speedtest.net speed test was taken between the two testmy.net speed tests. Local gaming center, AT&T DSL, 6/608. And I could be getting these speeds at home..... ::::::::::::::::::::::::.. testmy.net test results ..:::::::::::::::::::::::: Download Connection is:: 5092 Kbps about 5.09 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB) Download Speed is:: 622 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 467 Kbps about 0.47 Mbps (tested with 748 kB) Upload Speed is:: 57 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Server 1) Test Time:: 2006/08/19 - 1:04pm D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-R3WH1Y9E8 U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-5NU1ZL4I2 User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1) ::::::::::::::::::::::::.. testmy.net test results ..:::::::::::::::::::::::: Download Connection is:: 5076 Kbps about 5.08 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB) Download Speed is:: 620 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 471 Kbps about 0.47 Mbps (tested with 748 kB) Upload Speed is:: 57 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Server 1) Test Time:: 2006/08/19 - 1:09pm D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-V5YOJKZI0 U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-RGY9C38QK User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)

Wow, what an upload...
-
Wow, oooold topic, but it's ok. When I opened the topic I saw dlewis's speeds and was amazed that he could get that on a 6/512 line, then I saw the ISP and remembered he used to have Adelphia......
-
Hey, you're right! Thanks!
-
You mean this one or this one? Either way, I kind of need the built in 4-port switch that comes with the Buffalo one.
-
Yeah, I was using those files from download.com for my on mini version of "the bench". Not to prove that one site is better than another, but because I was bored.
-
Thanks guys, thought it looked like a good wireless bridge (it has a built in 4 port switch ), but I was kind of worried about it because it's from Buffalo, and I've never used anything from Buffalo.
-
Well, now you're not 1986 Kbps above your advertised speed.
-
Well, my official Xbox wireless adapter (Microsoft MN-740) just broke a couple days ago (when I plug it in it doesn't turn on) and I'm looking for a new wireless bridge. I came across this as my first choice. Does anyone know anything about Buffalo products? Is this a good wireless bridge?

Question about the Belkin F5D7230-4 Wireless G Router
gotmilk replied to DiRt DeViL's topic in Networking and Hardware
That's pretty dumb, what if you want to have a 100 Mbps LAN in your house? Surely there's a way to force at least the LAN ports to 100 Mbps. -
Sorry, but I figured, you know, it is a spam account..... But go on, tell them what I attempted to download if you want. It's not like it's anything bad....
