Hi guys, been awhile, hope your all staying safe and warm!!! Seems like I continue to change lots. Don't geek or tweek anymore. Window's 7 helped with that issue. Sure don't miss xp with all its issues. Any more what few people that do still use desktop computers, any issues I simply tell them install windows 7 and be done with it. I am hoping someone "rips" there own store bought dvd's for there own personal use, that can help me a bit with this program. I ripped a couple of DVD's. Just have some questions on some of the settings.

Not real sure, and could change my mind, so far not liking usb. Just to much and takes to long to find what you want. I myself find it easier to pop in a cd and go. Now most my drives are short. If I were to take a major road trip, well that usb may come in usefull, but my drive to work is on 15 min tops.

Ok, So I installed my new kenwood sterio, First I tried there software, no luck. So I am trying to find software to organize my muisc and hope the sterio will pick up the name of the folder's instead of just calling it folder 1 through whatever.....

Your kidding me right??? The sterio will answer your phone???

Well I decided to switch gears. I had no idea new car sterio's were so cheep. Make's sense with mp3 players and all. So I am gonna spend the money to get the a new sterio, with all the stuff to hook it up, 100 bucks will get me a good one. Had no idea the new ones would play music from a usb drive. Just not sold on mp3 players, not sure I wanna carry one around, and with mid west winters, you can' leave em in the car.

I REALLY don't want a Ipod. Simply can not see paying that kind of money for a mp3 player. So after allot of thought, think my first mp3 player is gonna be a sony walkman. Reading the reviews at amazon, seems like a decent buy. I will get the mounting kit for it, then Use a casset adapter, see how the hole thing works out for me and if I like it. If it all works out, I may get a new sterio for my car in the future. No point in throwing tons of money into something I am unsure of. So baby steps. I can get the whole set up for under a 100 bucks, so thats fine. Before I buy the sony, I may take a look at the local pawn shops and price a ipod. Ebay is not a option for me. Not a fan.

Ok, its time for me to get out of the stone age. Wanna get a mp3 player and put in my car. Not sure how to do it. I have a cd player, a tape deck (not sure it works). So what do I need to pull this off. Appreciate any help. Also some advice on a mp3 player would help. Not real sure I want a apple, Not a fan of the computer software needed to put music on the ipod. Yea, I am clueless with digital music. Thanks.

Guess I just never really thought it was my connection, I mean my speeds were ok fine. But I was sure getting Lag, my Uploads and Downloads sure seemed ok fine. Even Did the ping test. Kinda Glad I gave the Cable Guy a Old AMD quad Core I have had for While and not being used. We were talking Computers, he was gonna overclock his AMD dual core, So I gave him my AMD quad core. He just went crazy. Had to laugh, cause I thought after I gave it to him. No way I will Know how it worked out for him. Then we had to have the connection fixed again, the 2 hour ordeal I spoke of. He said, he feels like he earned the Quad Core, I agreed.

Finally got my connection fixed. Poor cable guy was here for over 2 hours. He was frustrated. It kept doing everything I said it did. Plug in the other computer, Modem crashes. Then when it does work it was REAL slow. He replaced just about everything. Started from the pole, to the house, to under the house, replaced all of it. Works great now. My game plays fine. No lag. So am I gonna change the settings. NOPE. Its not broke, i am not gonna fix it.

It just makes NO sense. I try to hook up a second computer to the router, the router fails I get no connection to the net from either computer I disconnect the second computer, reboot modem, net works ok fine. I got a new one from them. They will be back tommorow. My speeds just are just bad. I have rebooted the modem countless times, i scanned the computer, I even rolled back the the drivers, because I did update them. GF just tried to hook up to the wireless with her cell phone and it failed. I just don't understand it.

Ok, Sorry been so long, My cable modem has been garbage of late. Just getting on the net is hit and miss. So, they dude is supposed to be here today to replace it. See how it goes. Gotta laugh, The online game I plays LOTS are complaining about lag, Soooooooo Not sure what im gonna do. Get the new modem going, see how it all works out. Will let you know.

OK, I am a online gamer. Yea, it lags from time to time. Now I just saw someone suggest this!! If your using a realtek network adapter, They suggest trying this. Go into advance mode on the card settings, Disable the TCP Check Sum and UPD Check Sum settings. By default they are set to to RX&TX Enabled. They seemed to think it MAY help. . Now I am on Windows 7. SO.......I know they said something about checking ping times to see if disabling these setting help or not. So in windows 7 how do I check the ping times.I am guessing lower ping times, better ping times. Playing Guid wars 2, so maybe I should check my ping times with them??? Yes I have everything written down so I can change it back. Just need to know Should I try it?? Or is it a BAD idea??? Forgot to ask, if I do make changes to the card, Do I need to Reboot the computer every time???

IMHO, Ryan, the builds we just did are gonna last us a long time. With Desk Tops becoming a thing of the past, I THINK Intel and AMD are gonna start giving more attention to the mobile market, and us desk top users are gonna see upgrades to the cpu becoming less and less. Just wont see any big jumps in speeds IMHO. Oh man, when I was debating my build, I was thinking of going with INTEL, so I did my research, Man the FANBOYS make it tough to make a informed choice. Websites that pick and choose what to benchmark so either AMD or INTEL look good, or bad. In the end, I went with AMD, but knew I needed a closed loop water cooler because it ran so warm. I only went with AMD is because it was less expensive, and placing my bets on it offered more long term value. The kicker is with the 8350, putting a closed loop water cooler on it, i could of got a Intel for that kind of money, So I really did not save much with AMD. Simply can not tell the future. That Intel build you put together is just SWEET. Think its gonna last you a long time and give you some great performance. I am not really a fan of AMD, or INTEL, I am a fan of what does the job I want, at a price I can afford. Always thought it was a Chevy vs Ford Debate. Both really nice, Both have the good and Bad, and one good power surge, and both chips are Toast. HA!!! I used the big brother of the last build I made, which I used the Cool Master Storm Scout Mid Tower Case. Nice case, I find the carrying handle on both cases I own to be SO handy. Do agree with most, if you really wanna see your computer get snappy, put in a SSD. You will Really notice a difference in a big way.

Sweet Build Ryan. Just finished up my LAST build myself. Build enough computers, This one will be my last. The older I get, the less geek I become. Esh the amount of money and Time I have wasted on computers. Find myself, caring, and messing with computers less and less. If you care, this is what I put together. Yes I know 16 gig of ram is overkill, had some problems getting my computer done and sent, so they gave me 8 gigs and a Better power supply for free to make up for all the hassle. Either its a driver issue, or your printer is bad. I would try to either update your drivers, or uninstall them, then try a re install. It could be the cord that hooks your printer to your computer. Just a few ideas I hope help.

While I just had a new big bad computer built, kinda wish I would not of done it, and it will be my last. I truly wish I would of went with a new tablet. GF got herself a smart phone, after playing with it, thought man I want this without the silly phone. After seeing what all she can do with it, man why did I bother with a computer and saved money and hassle and joined the masses with a new tablet. So this computer, Its my last. Find myself enjoying simple games, not the complex ones anymore. Find myself getting away from my computer more and caring less and less about it. After 15 plus years of computers, and fixing em, building em, and hours of frustration. I have had enough. While I will always try to keep a desktop just in case, the days of having a monster are done after this one. Think i am just getting old, caring less about em, and burnt out on em. If someone would offer me a fair price for this one, I would sell it in a heart beat. Just in case you ask, 1500 would buy it, not trying to sell it on the net.

I do not remember who got such a tickle out of that when I said it the first time. Think they said they were gonna use it in there signature. When I saw your comments about windows 8 being so bad, just thought it would be funny to repeat what I said last time about it.

I re checked just to make sure. Windows 8 is still so bad people are not even bothering to steal it.

While goofing off long ago, I ran across a Windows 7 patch, that really helped my connection. I tried regular settings, Few tools here and there. Ran Across this Registry Patch that really helped me out lots. Any one else have that happen to em?? Ok, took ,me awhile to find it. Here is the link. Most of you guys know, When I bought my new computer, had some problems with the build. Got it all strait, they made it right. Same company, I am trying to figure out why this computer wont boot from dvd. I mean It will, BUT if there is nothing in the dvd player, it won't skip it and move on to the hard drive. So after 4 days of back and forth with e-mail, I let em have it. In a polite way, I told them, Really, are you kidding me? I sell someone a computer, I get a e-mail with issues, I pick up the phone, call em, see what can be done. Am I expecting to much??

Never thought about firmware upgrade for the DVD. Its just a cheep, generic dvd Player. Have to figure out what brand it is. What was the name of that Program you could get that would give you al the computer hardware. Was it barkley, something like that.

Yea I agree, may have to live with it. Thought there may be some other setting in the BIOS I was missing. It dosent bother me so much I am ready to flash the bios. Have a C.D. I use to back up my harddrive. Thats really the only reason that I use the DVD, or reload windows 7

Your Right Mud, Plese accept my apology. I did not word my first post right. I want the ability to boot from either DVD or Hard Drive without having to go in and make change my BIOS. If I put DVD in the first boot order, and there is no DVD in the drive, It won't skip that drive and Move on to hard drive. That should make more senese. Sorry. Forgot to add, If I do put a DVD in the drive, it will boot no problem. If the DVD is empty, it won't skip the DVD and move on to boot from hard drive.

While Its rare. Yea, need to boot from disk. So odd. I can boot from disk no problem. I can boot from hard drive no problem. If I put dvd first hard drive second. It dosen't work.
