I gave up on diablo 3 that silly pay to win game and Gave Guild Wars 2 a shot. What a good time. Having a blast. While the game is 60 bucks, its free to play, no monthly fees. So far the game is working great. Lets just hope the don't patch it and ruin it.

I always wondered, as a dad myself, Why am I called a Mother, Yet I have never seen a mother called dad/father. And remember, if your really really sick. NEVER EVER trust a fart. You will thank me for that later. HA!!!!!!!

I bounce between Opera and chrome. Like opera because its easy to customize it more to your liking. Example, with right click, I can open notepad, open the page in any other browser I choose. Like someone else said, Next month, or the next release, the better browser will change.

If I was you. Get the authenticator, 6.50 for the key chain version, OR free application for cell phone. When I purchased the game that was the second thing I did. Hackers are some how getting ahold of LOTS of user names/passwords. Not happy with the way Blizzard is nurfing characters. The patching is silly. They are also nurfing gold drops. Fixing exploits that lets people farm TONS of gold. At the moment, Kinda stuck which way to go. Seems like I have reached my limit with my monk. Not sure what to do. May start a new character and go again. Hope we get the chance to play together. See ya on the battlefields.

Thanks mud. Software worked ok. Just wish it offered a way to split into equal parts. Like for example 15 equal parts. Seems like the only split it will do is by minutes. Which is ok. Will make it work. Keep my eye open for something else. They TriRan, Gamer Tag tymothy#1635 . Seems like the game is dying. Or no one is playing public games anymore. Tons of people getting hacked. I have the authenticator, have to use it every time I log in. So far, I been safe. Have a level 59 monk. On the third act of hell. Need to do some farming, get better armor. Feel free to add me.

Been awhile. Sorry. Playing diablo 3. Any Who.........Looking for a MP3 splitter. I have a pretty big file, Its just one big MP3. I want to split it into parts. What It is is a audio book, I can make them with some software I have. It will export the book to audio MP3. Just looking for a way to split it so Its not just one big file. Any Ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Just in case someone wants to know how I do it. I bought Ice book reader Pro. Paid 100 bucks for lifetime updates. My eyesight is garbage but I do love to read. This program makes it tons easier. I then found a voice her name is "bridget". Amazing. Does not sound like a computer. She has some emotion. She is from voice text. Lets just say google is your friend. Finding her is pretty simple. Now with her voice installed. and Ice book reader pro, My computer can read to me. With a set of wireless headphones, I can putter around the house, and listen to my books. I can make a audio book for road trips. Just sharing that in-case someone who reads the forum finds the information usefull. Oh takes about 45 to one hour to make the audio book. TIA for the help and suggestions.

Thought one of you guys may know. I have always wondered why anti virus never comes with a net work meter? It makes sense that having a meter that monitors bandwidth, Would help users know if they have a Trojan or a nasty. A type of meter, that while not surfing would monitor your computer's connection and offer a 24 hour analysis. Something you could look at and see if there is any strange spikes in your Internet connection. Or is the idea of a monitor type software like I described not possible. I mean would the spikes a Trojan may cause, could be caused by something else?? What do you all think??

If you've been waiting for your beta key but it hasn't showed up, you're in luck: you can play for free this weekend to help Blizzard stress-test their servers in time for the May 15 launch. From Saturday, April 21 at 5:01 AM AEST until Tuesday, April 24 at 3:00 AM AEST, the servers will be open and running. Hit up battle.net and begin downloading the client now! Thought I would post this in case some of you guys and gals wanted to give it a look.

Oh....you have to have the game itself installed. Either buy using the disk, or the down loaded version. They send you the maps, and they keep track of your progress. The dungeons are random. Most of the client will be on the cloud. What is on your computer itself, well to be honest. Im just not sure. Its a rather large install. close to 8 gig I believe.

I have dived deeper into diablo 3. Yes for now you have to be on the Internet to play, in time that MAY change. It seems they really are doing this game right. Trying to make it fun for casual gamers and the hard core guys. I found the beta to be a good time. Played all the characters, found for me the witch doctor, and the Monk will be my 2 main guys. The auction house is kinda cool, you can buy items for real money or in game gold. The items U can buy at the auction house, u will find in the game in time. This is one area I will avoid. Like the fact that there will be no fights allowed between players while playing the main version, you have to go to a area to do that. So while playing the regular game you dont have to worry about a team mate killing you off. U have four levels, you HAVE to beat them in order, so defeating the normal game opens up the next level with new monsters and new items. So looking forward to the release of this. Can see getting many hours and months, and years of play out of this one game. As far as the other comment. It seems like everyone has become super sensitive, dont call him a black man, Don't use this or that term anymore. So I just try not to say anything.

I think I got lucky. Lots have played and done everything. By the time I get through most of it, it will be time to play the full version. Still working on getting witch doctor up to level 13, then I have 3 more classes to get up there. Still lots I dont understand, Like the auction house, and other things. So in my case, glad I had to wait. Glad I am getting the head start on the game. Yea I know I will loose everything, but will already have a feel for the game, which class I wanna play, Really like the witch doctor, GF think the doc looks gay, well he does have a doll lol. Nothing wrong with being gay its all good. No offense meant to anyone,

They gave out TONS of beta keys by email, I got one. I was shocked to say the least. You only get to play a small part but WOW!! I REALLY loved this one. Graphics are nice, game play is fun, really looking forward to the May 15th release date.

Well for now I am back to opera, It finally got a decent ad blocker as an extension. Chrome is my number two browser. But , like I said before, every new release tends to change my mind. Which ever browser is the most behaved, and the fastest.

So apple is worth more than microsoft and google combined.....

I always believed if your young, really into learning computers you should own two of them, A apple, and a Linux dual booted with Windows. I truly wish I had done it long ago when I was younger. Now that I am older, windows is just fine for me. I just game and surf. When Xp was Big, I spent Lots of time helping others fix there computer. I really don't miss doing that. Now I simply tell others, get windows 7. Apple is such a cool product. Think the price and complexity always made me a bit gun shy. I regret not doing it when I should of. I always wondered why steve did not release a Mac that could compete with windows. Now that I know what I know, Desktop computers were not steve's passion. Taking computing to the next level was. -

IMHO what is really nice is the ability to buy what you need. You may need this or that feature, but no so much the other. Do i need a Iphone? No way. I pay 30 bucks a month and paid 40 for the phone. Its all I want or need. Do I need a I Pad. Nope. My nook touch is all I need, Just want to read. I simply have no desire to stay connected to people or the Internet when I am taking a bath. While I am not sure. Jobs just kinda seems like the kinda guy that has no desire for the Sir or the Mr title. I know I am that way. From a few interviews will Say Steve had a funny sense of humor. While doing a interview that included bill gates, He made the joke that Him and bill have been secretly married for years. Bill did not find it funny, everyone else did. You just gotta wonder what Jobs told the company the direction he thought they should go in. Or did he simply say nothing and let them choose the direction. Think one of my fav quotes from Steve was, Give your Idea a Shot, we all have to die, so really what do you have to loose? IMHO, Apple really benefited from "gadget envy". I can even see kids teasing each other. You got a android cause your parents are to poor to afford a Ipad. Man I am glad I grew up in the age of 3 channel T.V.s and when living in the country, they way they got us home was ringing a bell. We did not have to update our facebook, you went outside and asked your friends what they were up to. -

While not a fan, its cool we have a choice. Just gotta give Apple and there people respect. Coming up with new products that really do make a difference. The best example being Ipads used in school for teaching. Kids have access to more current information. We can thank Apple for bringing the tablet, the smart phone, to the next level. You dont have to buy Apple to enjoy the products. You can buy Kindle Fires and several other products. I also think Steve taught many people to think outside the box. Microsoft owns the desktop, he just took it to the next level. Also think the apple store is brilliant. You can not only try the product, you can pay a small fee and have someone teach you how to use it. Steve was no saint. Tough to work for, probably pushed to hard. The impact he had on society will last for generations. -
To be honest not surprised. Microsoft spent way to much time working on the desktop. While they were doing that, Steve concentrated on turning the p c mobile. With I tunes, I phones, I pads. Now people are not forced to sit at a desk to stay connected. Gotta wonder how Microsoft is taking this news. http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/technology/apple-worth-more-than-google-microsoft-combined/2012/02/10/gIQAYb7I4Q_story.html

I remember when Opera was a pay to use browser. That browser could of been a contender if they would of made the effort of matching firefox for features. They are just NOW getting around to putting a ad blocker on it. Not sure why they dont port ad block plus, but its almost like they want the browser to fail.
-
Wanna guess which browser I am using right now. Yep. The Netscape Browser LOL. Remember that one? Still works ok. Speed wise not to bad. Trying to think what other browsers are there that are no longer around? Give me some names, I will sure load them up and try them HA!! Man I need to get out more.

Learning something new, Host Files..........
ninjageek replied to ninjageek's topic in General Discussion
I have simply given up on the host files. Tried it, found no gain in use. Opera with there extension, Adblock. Does pretty much ok. Once in a great while will see something. Its rare. Will say playing with ad block plus, Really like it. Easy to add stuff you missed. -

Right Now, I am looking to spybot vs host files. I am simply not sure which to use. Spybot adds to your host files to help protect you. THINK spyware blaster does the same. Now the big question, which offers better protection. The host file program "hostsman" or is Spybot and Spyware Blaster a better choice? The bad thing about playing with host files, you gotta be careful in your choices, to much and your gonna slow down your machine. While Opera had FINALLY gotten a adblocker, its such a closed program its kinda hard to edit the adblocking files. Looking at two programs for opera, Opera Adblock, Also looking at Content Blocker Helper. I just posted a few questions for the guy that made the extension. I am simply looking for 2 things in opera. I want to subscribe to a decent list. I want to be able to add or edit that file as needed. It LOOKS like the Content Blocker Helper may be what I am looking for. Opera is so frustrating at times, They could of taken chromes place in the browser war as it were. Been a viable option to Firefox. Once again they dropped the ball. Opera is for people that want to play with software. Chrome is for people that just want the darn thing to work. -

I guess Mud the reason I want to learn more about it is the same reason I wanted to learn about Overclocking. Just a subject that always kinda fascinated me. How its done I guess is the question I wonder the most is how do they go about figuring out where the ad is coming from. Host files are starting to get my intrest as well. -

All I can say is oops I was wrong. As for the ads that people get paid for just viewing, I know opera simply blocks the image, It still downloads it, Think most other browsers do the same, Not sure. AdBlockers have been around for so long, Firefox was the first, Chrome just got one not long ago, So did opera. Would LOVE to find someone who not only uses opera, But is smarter than me, any 6th grader would do lol. Been trying to figure out how to change the adblock list. The way the opera fourms are telling me to do it is not right. I THINK there is a .css style sheet someplace that needs to be changed. Would love to figure it out. There has to be other ways websites are making money. I remember the guy from metal sludge talking about google and him making good money that way. Gosh remember when everyone had to have a pop up blocker, lol. I have kind of moved away from hosts files, I just don't think they are helping as much as they should. So right now, I am trying to lean adblocking. With opera, you can not as of yet subscribe to other lists. I tried the opera forum, Tried the adblock fourm, No luck. Maybe someday lightning will strike twice. TryRyan walked me through overclocking, Maybe someone will teach me ad blocking. -

Na mud. Ad Blockers have been around for so long, IMHO, Don't think they are having the effect most believe. If they did, websites would shut down left and right. I understand what your saying. I just dont think they are having that kind of effect on advertisers. To be honest, I simply dont know how that works. Maybe the boss will chime in and explain it better. Or someone else that runs a website. Interesting question. -

Oh I have had SO much fun of late. I used to use admuncher. When I saw the price jump I about fell down. 80 bucks for a lifetime license and you can only use it on one computer. Many tried to use it on there other computer at home, got caught. So not only is it tracking your usage, Gotta wonder if its tracking for other reasons. I uninstalled admuncher, went with my free setup. Works just as well. Told them so when it asked why I un installed it. So he writes back talking how great it is. So I let him have it. Told him 80 bucks was a joke, if you have two computers which most d0, They want 160 dollars for something you can do for free. Are you kidding me. Good luck with that buttercup. I really let loose on em. Even blasted them in there forum. What a rip off.
