  1. Ultra Surf - Click to view feedback on Ultra Surf >>> http://www.testmy.net/t-20731.msg281842#msg281842

    The only negative feedback I got is that Ultra Surf is detected by Nod32 as a virus.

    Freegate - publisher's description:

    This program helps Internet users in China to access the Internet faster and more stably. Many users report that Freegate makes visiting overseas websites just as fast as visiting local ones. A unique encryption and compression algorithm is implemented to secure and optimize users online activities. If your selected language does not display correctly, please 1) download the dynamic link library (.dll) file from the Dynaweb download page, 2) place it in the same directory as Freegate's executable (.exe) file, and 3) restart Freegate.

    Let us know your feedback too. Thanks!  :smitten:

    you can check your IP ADDRESS by going to google and typing IP ADDRESS it will give you several links that will point you to a site that can detect your IP address and if followed and done correctly you will notice that the IP address is actually masked or changed.. :) If you got more question don't hesitate to ask..

    Same goes if you want to set up other Browsers.. since ULTRA SURF is designed for IE then you don't have to set IE manually since it will be automatically set once you run the software...

    nice tutorial. i will be re-posting this as a source then redirect viewers to this post.  :wink:

  3. hello Funsize (nice name :smiley: )

    i think it is just "SAFE" to switch color codes or access points, under the ff conditions:

    1) your canopy sm has roaming capability - it is the technical support (customer service) who can set that, you may inquire if you want to.

    2) you use the same ethernet card - coz it's the physical address that is recognized by Smartbro's system whatever AP you are homed at.

    otherwise, you will be redirected to the portal.

  4. Coolbuster's FOURmula for Faster Broadband Speed and Reduced Latency

    We will use Dr. TCP

    It's standalone, no need to install. You can place the exe file in any folder and just put a shortcut somewhere preferably in the desktop for easy location. The user interface is simple and it uses less system resources at a size of 1.7mb only.

    Now for the tuning and tweaking part, please follow my FOURmula.

    1. Download Dr. TCP http://www.dslreports.com/drtcp

    2. Place a shortcut and run it.

    3. Put the following values in the corresponding boxes:

    * Tcp Receive Window = 128480, 513920, or 937500

    * Window Scaling = Yes

    * Time Stamping = No

    * Selective Acks = Yes

    * Dial Up (RAS) MTU = "leave it blank"

    * Path MTU Discovery = Yes

    * Black Hole Detection = No

    * Max. Duplicate ACKs = "leave it blank"

    * TTL = "leave it blank"

    * Adapter Settings = "select your adapter"

    * MTU = 1500

    4. Click 'Save' then 'Exit' and then restart computer to apply changes.

    Results:

    1. Faster broadband speed.

    2. Reduced latency.

    Recommendations:

    1. Have a fresh installation of Windows XP before applying this procedure.

    2. For Smartbro users: Do not mix it up with the 20 Steps to Faster Smartbro.

  5. and I missed a very outstanding information:

    I using internet with 768/192Kbps.

    How i can set largest upload

    you are one of the unlucky subscribers who where provided with a Canopy antenna with only 512Kbps aggregate maximum throughput.

    anyways, you can change the upload value by logging in to the Canopy page. Go to Configuration and then to Quality of Service (QoS). Set both Upload and Download Burst Allocations to 768 (though I see on the image that its already set).

  6. hello there stefanACM.

    we are glad that after you read the pertinent topics you were able to open the canopy page.

    please be reminded that you're on Smartbro, features of which are the following:

    1. The advertised speed is up to 384 Kbps for 999 pesos. if your lucky that the base station you are homed has been upgraded, you will get a speed of up to 512 Kbps, still for 999 pesos.

    2. Because your service Plan is P999, you were provided a Canopy SM Lite antenna, which has Sustained Data rates max of 1000 Kbps or 1Mbps. you can set the Download or Upload data rates however you want as long as both will total to a figure which is less than or equal to 1000 Kbps. For example: you set the Download to 600 Kbps and the upload to 400 Kbps or vice versa.

    3. There is no way you can increase the Uplink and Downlink burst allocations. The maximum is 1500 Kbps each for a subscriber module with 1mb aggregate.

    I hope you find this explanation helpful.

    Now, if you want to increase your speed by tweaking, click the following link and read on.  :wink:

  8. HELLO SIR I TRIED IT ALREADY CHANGING THE VALUE!! BUT WHEN ITS TIME TO SAVE AND REBBOT IT RETURNS TO THE DEFAULT SETTINGS TO 500.... WHY?

    that is because you have a 1000 kbps (1mbps) aggregate. the total sustained data rates on both upload (UL) & download (DL) should be less than or equal to 1000 kbps. for ex: UL 500 + DL 500 = 1000, UL 400 + DL 500 = 900 or UL 200 DL 800 = 1000.

    i hope its clear now.  :wink:

  9. PLDT MyDSL offered me a stable 512 Kbps for P998. will be connected in a week.

    i have already terminated the crappy Smartbro. why are the packages different from one area to another? elaijahpaul's landline+dsl (Plan 990) and mine at P998. hmmm...

    any comment from anyone who knows or anybody with longer experience with PLDT MyDSL?
