I have Debian, SuSE, Red Hat, and Ubuntu... and you are somewhat correct, Ubuntu is based on Debian
Personally I prefer Debian, and Ubuntu since it's similar
If a drive is properly wiped, you can't get anything from it (anything useful anyway)

@cholla... it lakes very little to wipe out a drive... certainly not a paid program. I've done it with a Windows 98 boot disk
