  3. Sorry havent replied im on a Static IP now still have some DC probs but it works thank you all.Also regarding the port forward this do i do this?
  4. so before i try any of the above things should i set the part that says obtain ip automatically to static ip and should i disable the local DHCP thing heres a picture

Alright i put that info in the NIC card then in my Router and it gives me conflicting IP Address problems and also when i put that info on the nic card i could no longer connect to the net so i put my internet cable back in the NIC so i can type this.   7. yeah my router cost like 70-80ish dont think all need to go that route for awhile.also what is the name of the ports here it what im looking at when putting your info in. is that even the right place

  9. ok last night i set me Router back to Factory Defaults and set everything back so me and my brother can go online. But on this MMORPG i play now its disconnected like every 5-15 second now when i use to get dropped every maybe 3-4 hours and im stumped on why. Also my router is a Linksys BEFSR41 and i know the game uses port 10060 it says timed out sometimes so i assume thats what it needs. Thank you for any help on the matter guys it much appreciated.

Ok i play a MMORPG called conquer when i was first just connected straight to my modem i would never get disconnected now im dropped every 2 hours are so, It's a linksys BEFSR41 also my brother is connected through 100 feet of ethernet and he is basically never dropped very rarely. thank you for any help

  14. ok i bought a Linksys 4 port switch its a wired one, me and my brother are both running Windows Xp his professional mine normal if that makes a dif.Also my brothers is in another room be connected through 100 feet of ethernet.And FallowEarth im going to try your thing right now. EDIT:Ok i got it working now another question how do i make a FTP over to him so we can tranfer files and such thank you.
  15. ok i bit the bullet and bought a router problem is i can't get the computer in our front room to share the internet can anyone help me.sorry i have such a lack of details ask me the info you need and all tell you.

  17. ok we have a cable modem and my brother bought a new computer so he will have his hooked to it and i can bring the old computer into my room. Now can i have my computer hooked to his and we can both share the internet or do we need to pay extra for a second IP.
