  1. lmao... Now, if I could just get it running like that at my apt.... I'd never leave home... Any ideas on why in the database only shows those scores as 32767? ("Only".... Jeez, I just realized how obnoxious of a question that was...my bad..lol) BTW, you and cobra have some BADASS signatures... very nice indeed.
  2. Actually I don't play Counterstrike as of yet... But I like UT2004 and Battlefield 1942 (Desert Combat)...
  3. Well, here's another for ya from today... I didn't save the text for it, but I looked in my history and found it in the Database search... do the first search option for my computer ID (6349156360) and Auth Code (MEEQE1KVM)..... MEEQE1KVM 32767 12160-KB 6349156360 Download 20041029 35.111 EDIT********** Here it is folks... The Mother(s) Of All Test Scores.... :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 53468 Kbps about 53.5 Mbps (tested with 12160 KB) Download Speed is:: 6527 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 955 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 0.16 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=C3KMVN7RB --- then, I tested again... --- :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 76507 Kbps about 76.5 Mbps (tested with 12160 KB) Download Speed is:: 9339 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 1366 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 0.11 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=9QJCY8845 Seems the connection is much better after hours (I logged on remotely and tested it. It's about 1:30 am here...).... Now... before anyone says "That's not possible on a DS3!!"... You're right... But the Network Group next door that supplies our bandwidth at the office is piped into the net with 4 Multiplexed DS3's.... SO.. Maybe I have access to a little more bandwidth than I previously thought.... Dunno... But it kicks much arse at night.... Curiously enough though, if you click on the validation links, it only shows up as 32767 like the one I posted above... is that the limit that it reports in the database? Ceck that out cable dood.... lemme know.
  4. Something strange is indeed happening with the u/load test though.... Normaly it works fine for me, but for some reason I've been getting this.... ERROR :: 948 :: Uhhhhh, you got under 1 Kbps ~~ I don't calculate that low... try testing with a larger size. (sucks to be you) And well, being that I'm sitting on a DS3 I find that hard to believe.... I'll try again in a bit. Toast.net gives me this.... You uploaded 3,932,214 bytes in 4 seconds. Your upload speed is 7,864 kbps. DSL Reports gives me this.... Your upload speed : 9360374 bps, or 9140 kbps Just letting you know so you can check it out... dunno if something's wrong or not
  5. :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 17826 Kbps about 17.8 Mbps (tested with 12160 KB) Download Speed is:: 2176 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 318 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 0.47 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=HW2KVQW0P
  6. I did some more testing with the RWIN setting... and it seems that with the connection @ my office, the best setting is in fact 513920 due to the capacity of the connection (Four DS3's shared with the rest of the office complex which consists of about 12 other companies). Smaller RWIN settings will decrease both the upload and download speeds pretty drastically, and larger settings will decrease the upload speed, but not so much the d/load speed... At times when network traffic is low, I get some pretty high speeds though.. see below... I'm at home now, so I don't have the results handy to post, but I may log on remotely and get them, or post them tomorrow... I can tell you that with the current settings, I'm consistantly around 15 Mbps / 5 Mbps according to testmy.net and according to speakeasy.net it's about 12 Mbps/9 Mbps consistantly (Not factoring in overhead)... So for now I think I will leave it as is untill I do some more reading. Thanks for all the advice though... I appreciate it.
  7. Ok.. here's a screenshot of my downloading the 128M test.... Never seems to drop below 1.4 MB/sec on that one.... I like it... Van...... With the current settings, her's my u/load speed... it's about 1/3 of what I get on D/load... :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is: 5084 Kbps about 5.1 Mbps (tested with 1013 KB) Upload Speed is: 621 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line: 91 times faster than 56K you can upload 1MB in 1.65 second(s) Validation Link :: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=NEYPN1N33 Now.. interesting thing is... when I go to http://dfw.speakeasy.net,'>http://dfw.speakeasy.net, it's more in-line with my d/load speed... check it out... 2004-09-22 18:02:55 EST: 11756 / 8479 Your download speed : 12038208 bps, or 11756 kbps. A 1469.5 KB/sec transfer rate. Your upload speed : 8683068 bps, or 8479 kbps. the variations may also have to do with how the entire office complex shares this connection with me, so I get what's available at the time... dunno... regardless, I'm lovin it.... This is going to make me stay late at work all the time.. lol EDIT --------------- Here are the scores with your 100Mbps tweak... :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 10878 Kbps about 10.9 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB) Download Speed is:: 1328 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 194 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 0.77 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=244W2LJAI :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is: 5115 Kbps about 5.1 Mbps (tested with 1013 KB) Upload Speed is: 624 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line: 91 times faster than 56K you can upload 1MB in 1.64 second(s) Validation Link :: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=WCK7RKGAC http://dfw.speakeasy.net 2004-09-22 18:20:44 EST: 8913 / 8358 Your download speed : 9127168 bps, or 8913 kbps. A 1114.1 KB/sec transfer rate. Your upload speed : 8559201 bps, or 8358 kbps. Upload stayed about the same... so it looks like I'll go back to the larger window size I guess.... Another strange thing I noticed, is that when I go to SG analyzer page, it shows my MTU as 1420 and my MSS as 1380 no matter what I have it set to on my machine... anyone know why this would be?
  8. Well Van, I tried the tweaks, but it doesn't want to get much faster than what it is now. As a matter of fact, the small TCPRWIN causes my bandwidth to decrease by almost 5 Mbps.... It's currently set at 513920 as per the SG TCP Optimizer's "Exterme" setting. My tests vary, but mostly are between 15.5 Mbps - 18 Mbps (Last night I did actually get a 27.5 Mbps score.)... and alot of the runs are "off the scale" and I get the error about the 30000 kbps cap. I believe this is due to the file not being big enough for very highspeed connections... When d/loading large files, I seem to be consistantly between 1.5 MB/sec and 1.8MB/sec, but I must say, it's hard to find a download server that will consistantly give me speeds like that and keep them up.... If you have anymore ideas, or opinions, please let me know.. and thanks.. Odysseus_____
  9. I used TCP Optimizer I got from Speedguide.net... have any other suggestions?
  10. Just did a little tweaking with the office connecton... here's the results.... Download Speed Before Tweaking... :::.. 11. Nice... Well, my home connection isn't as good as the one at work, but it suffices.... It's Bellsouth DSL Xtreme.. Results are as follows: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 2080 Kbps about 2.1 Mbps (tested with 579 KB) Download Speed is:: 254 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 37 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 4.03 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=I0F0LKX5R :::.. Usually it's between 2.5 and 3 Mbps.... The advertise "up to" 3 Mbps....
  12. The office complex I am now located in has 3 OC class lines (used to be OC9 but have since upgraded) feeding the server group, a/k/a NTG..(This facillity will soon be a major internet node between Houston and Atlanta...)From that, they feed the offices with three DS3 lines (45 Mbit's each) which they all share..... So whatever's available is pretty much what I get.... it gets much faster after hours when everyone's gone home.... I'm thinking of moving to my office... You're screaming along quite nicely as well...
  13. Neener neener neener!! :P Mine's faster.... lol.. just picking.
