It was making a difference for me... my d/loads went from about 9.6 Mbps to about 12.7 Mbps... but then they went back down. Don't know if that corresponds with any of the tweaks you've been making... *****EDIT: Never mind the above comment... the scores are much better now... Touche' speedy.... No, I don't own it.... But I got the next best thing... I have 24/7 access to it anytime I want via remote desktoping or by the keys to the office in my pocket... Van: Yes, I need to do some things to it. That computer has some issues and I get inconsistant test results from most sites.... In real-world applications and judging on transfer rates I've seen when people are getting stuff from my server, I average about 10-15 megabits on the upload when 5-10 users are connected and all d/loading.... My download speed varies alot (I think more and more offices are starting to share that connection)... Mostly between 15-20 Megabits by most actual d/loading I do... but again, most test results vary too much to know for sure... .. But again, I really need to replace that PC... very old.

Well... I work for a Scientific Instrument service/design company... We are located in the same complex as our service provider, which has a direct pipeline. They have the whole place pre wired... here's their site. They offer alot of different services... http://www.ntg.com We're pretty much sitting right on top of all that... We're on a Gigabit LAN, and all of the offices in the complex have a Cisco Catalyst 3500 XL 48 Port Switch that the control center configures as we need it... I'd like to be able to do it myself, but they won't allow that, and I'm not complaining to them... They don't really seem to care what ports you need open so long as you are authorized to call and request it (Which I made sure my boss told them I was).... The picture in my avatar on the left is a pic of the inside of the control room looking out at the server and storage rooms....

Cable modems, dialup modems, dsl modems.... blah. I'm with Van Buren... Just plug into the wall and fly....
