    Best Modem & NIC

    Ca3le will do thanks
  2. Well my connection problems continue I phoned my IP for the hundredth time and finally got a straight answer Apparently the modems that shaw includes with its internet package are very " finnicky ". Something they forgot to mention in their add lol The lady that I talked to said the new modems will be availale in roughly a year. I said the PIMPIN computer was gonna be done in a year so thats OK So anyways what is a kick ass modem, and while I'm at it I might as well change my NIC cause that is probably a piece of shit too. I have looked at a few but as usual I need some help

Steve I would go to speedguide: https://www.speedguide.net/ Go to the tcp:optimizer which is under broadband, read the faq, then download the optimizer. To find your optimal RWIN use the DSLnuts calculator: http://www.dslnuts.com/bitsbytes.shtml You can use this test to determine how your tweeks are working: http://www.broadbandreports.com/tweaks Don't forget to back up your registry. Everybodys connection is different, you might hit the right RWIN number right away, or like me it might take 10 or 12 hours of tweeking to get the right settings, but either way it is worth it. GOOD LUCK Let me know how it goes
