VanBuren Nice, hitting that overseas, now lets see a testmy.net test at that speed

Ok i seem to be at that wall ice was talking about @ just over 500Kb/sec. So now i need a way to climb over the wall. If I can tweek my bios might that do it If so can somebody tell me what i might tweek in my bios to squeeze a little extra speed out of this old girl Oh yeah i don't know how to get into my Bios, could somebody help me with that

RaWDIZ There is no way to make your ping lower. The only way your gonna get faster with a latency like that is to splurge and get cable.
-
I think your going to have to hop on the bandwidth wagon and get cable if you want better speeds
-
VanBuren Yeah I would like to see what kind of speeds you would post with 100Mbps, you could get 100Mbps for a month. And post some killer scores Then switch back to 10 Mbps though i doubt you would want to after seeing your speeds so high. This is something i would do cause im a little silly when it comes to speed

RaWDIZ You can try out the cablenut interface http://cablenut.org/ Install it then go start>programs>cablenut>Ccs>56k> then choose your os. Hopefully that will help

Swimmer Nice find, those Raptors rip

knightshade Yeah from what i have read wireless tweeking is a whole different story. All that you mentioned above + some high latency can make it pretty hard to get good speeds. Looks like you have got it under control though Sweet upload

Bob Yeah I'm on cable which is still fairly new around here so its not very often that i get some real bad lag. Iknow what ya mean bob, 4 meg up is sweet

Bob Your welcome That is a really nice upload! What is your advertised speed because you should be able to get 80-90% of it. Did the optimizer help

Bob Welcome to the forum Bob, the easiest I can think of to increase your speed would be to download the tcp optimizer. Download it, backup up current settings by going to file and choosing back up current settings. Than choose your type of internet connection, restart when it asks you to. You should see a difference in speed If you want to try and make it even faster there are a couple other simple things you can do like calculating your optimum RWIN and changing the default RWIN on the optimizer. If your interested in this post it and ill tell you how. Hope that helps Here is the link https://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php
