Steve PPPoE is ( Point to point Protocol over Ethernet ) PPPoA is ( Point to Point Protocol over ATM ) ATM is ( Asynchronous Transfer mode ) If you are using PPoE your max MTU should be 1492 I don't know about PPPoA The best way to find out what your max mtu should be is to phone your ISP. Also do one of these tests and post the results link, that will help figure out if there is anything else we can do to speed you up Oh and what is your os http://www.broadbandreports.com/tweaks

    New Record

Ice After I try a new tweek, I test 10 times and make sure my average sdeed is higher than it was before. All tests are done at the same time at night so i know whether that particular tweek is good or if it sucks So yes when i post a new record that means that i can consistently beat my old one. From now on I will post a couple of scores at a time, Good point btw. My RWIN is set at 64240 I'm capped at 8 Mb down so i have got a little ways to go before i hit that wall

    Well Tweeked

Supreme 1 What is your advertised speed ? Are you behind a firewall, if you are lower it and do another of the test you did above. What is your OS? this might sound funny but dont forget to put your firewall back up after the test, I say that because that is something I have forgot to do before. Oh yeah you should try running these 3 spyware removal programs also, they work good together. I have found that one program say like spybot just doesn't catch everything. And spyware is evil it eats up a ton of bandwidth. http://lavasoft.element5.com/software/adaware/ http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?lang=en&page=download http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Steve Thats cool that you have better speeds now, your pretty close to where you should be. 80-90% of your advertised is good. But if you want to see if you can get some more out of it, let me know exactly what tweeks you have done. Then I will see if I know some more.

  19. Swimmer I'm going to go with the 3400+, because I think your right. It is faster Everyday there is another review on it, where it is either equaling the FX or beating it. We just have to find some killer RAM for it And if we see some crazy developments in technology over the next year or 2, which I'm sure that we are going to. Then it will be time for PiMPuter 2 HOOYAH
