Thanks for the reply microwave. As you have stated the other account can get updates just fine. There really is no reason why I can not use that account to get updates while I am online instead of going to the other account to check for them or wait for them to appear.
-
I can go to the site. It is just a problem with getting the updates. It can not get far enough for me to see if I need a update. The other account as I say can access this site and get updates just fine. I was just trying to find out why this account on the same computer can not get updates. All suggestions are appreciated.

I am having trouble getting microsoft updates on 1 of my accounts. I have a admin. account that is mostly used only for this purpose. I have my account which I sometimes give admin. rights. When I try to get updates through my account I get the error show on my screenshot. I do have zonealarm pro and I have added microsoft ip address range to the trusted zone. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to correct this short of just using the admin. account o get all updates.

You specifcally said IE6. I do have that browser but I normally use Firefox. Would that have any bearing on what we are trying to do here. Are these setting correct?

I am very pleased with this change right now. We had heavy rain this morning and I was still able to surf and I only had a signal of 44. There is no way I would have benn able to go online with satmex5. The slightest rain would normally cut out my system. While the installer was here he tried a cross pole test and my system failed 100%. I must have had something out of line. I have been following your thread with yooperlady. I think I will try TCP Optimizer instead of cablenut. Do you have a secret(hehe) setting for me?
-
During my re-point of my dish today I introduced my installer to your site. He was not aware of your site. He did surf around a bit and used a new feature of the site, member stats. Maybe he will send some more traffic this way.
-
Well my satellite change was a sucess! I am now on Horizons 1, 1270. It was almost a seemless transition. It did take some time to get the modem re-commissioned. The installer who originally installed my system was the one who came out to do this sat change, My speed looks great for this time of day. I was not getting this kind of speed on satmed5. Many thanks to all members who helped me with this decision. Signal peaked at 67. Cross pol number were high also.

I have read your pointing up article and will pay attention when the installer is here tomorrow. I wil be sure to be "best buddies" with the installer. Thanks again. You are just full in information. I will let you and this forum know how all this turns out.
