  1. I am not sure what you are looking for either. Here is my stats for ACP. Local Time: MON FEB 28 15:26:16 2005 ------------------------------------ ACP Server Version : Non-regional ACP Installer ID sent to Server : AUTO
  2. sst45jeff, your icon seems to imply a power boat racing fan. have you ever heard of the Cambridge Classic? It is one of the oldest site for power boat racing in the United States. http://www.cpbra.com/dynamic.html
  3. https://testmy.net/personal_stats_30d.php?User_Name=rlh24&m=02&d=26&Y=2005 Not to bad. I wish I could get my average up everyday.
  4. BillnMartie, the 4000 is faster because Direcway can not control it's speed as much as they can the 6000. I personally do not see a problem with the 6000. If you are concentrating on the speed issue only, you may want to go for the older model.
  5. wguntersr, although this may very well be a direcway issue. Have you checked to see if you are FAP'ED? Log in here http://www.mydirecway.com/mydw/common/2way/index.jsp and click on "check my usage"
  6. CA3LE, as the site owner I do not think that comment was necessary. Most of use know who you are talking about. Could it possible be that you are concerned that his site may destroy the direcway site here?
  7. beastmastersr, I believe it is there because you started the thread. Only you and the mods can see it,
  8. The address of The Reverends new site is http://www.theequatorialnetwork.com/ It is not on line yet. Coming soon. Real soon.
  9. I can not help with your particular issue. However I can give you a link to a utility that will reset you DW6000. You can get it here. http://www.datastormusers.com/reset6000.cfm
  10. SeveN86 . Is your system grounded? This may be on direcway's end. Try disconnecting your 2 coax cables hooking into the back of you DW6000. Do them 1 at a time so that you do not get them mixed up. Touch your finger to the cable for about 3 seconds. If your system is not grounded you may have static buildup. This may get rid of it temporarily.
  11. KBert. I run zone alarm pro 5 with my CE version of the DW6000. I have not had any problems with this firewall after getting it configured correctly. First, you get what you pay for.
  12. Hello dixievideo and welcome to the forum. Lets make sure of some very basic setting. First Internet Explorer is much better to use with direcway. Now in IE make sure you have these settings Tools Internet Options Connections Lan Settings(screenshot attached) make sure your settings are the same. Now click on Advanced(screenshot attached) make sure everything is the same here also. Next follow the direction in this thread.http://www.testmy.net/topic-1703 You will be able to download TCP Optimizer form a link in that thread. Now lets try a upload tweak found in this thread. http://www.testmy.net/topic-1773 Please be very careful when editing your registry. Make a restore point before doing any of these suggestions. I hope this helps you and post back with your new speeds.
  13. This page has some speed tweaks for firefox. http://www.tweakfactor.com/articles/tweaks/firefoxtweak/4.html
  14. Well the excitement became to much and I had to try your new program. This test was done using the consumer file. Below are my results. A couple of post above this were my speeds with TCP Optimizer. :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 35 Kbps about 0 Mbps (tested with 579 KB) Upload Speed is:: 4 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Test Time:: Tue Feb 8 11:48:18 EST 2005 Bottom Line:: 1X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 256 sec Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/id-SD0OXM6RY :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 938 Kbps about 0.9 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB) Download Speed is:: 114 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Test Time:: Tue Feb 8 11:52:24 EST 2005 Bottom Line:: 17X faster than 56K 1MB download in 8.98 sec Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/id-UBVWQMOF6 After restoring TCP Optimizer settings I get these results. Although I know that internet congestion has a huge part in these test, it appears some of us are going to have to commit to a cablenut setting a keep it for a couple of days to compare. Sattellite seems to be so variable. :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 84 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 579 KB) Upload Speed is:: 10 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Test Time:: Tue Feb 8 12:22:39 EST 2005 Bottom Line:: 2X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 102.4 sec Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/id-S7VLN1KBQ :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 943 Kbps about 0.9 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB) Download Speed is:: 115 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Test Time:: Tue Feb 8 12:28:20 EST 2005 Bottom Line:: 17X faster than 56K 1MB download in 8.9 sec Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/id-VKXIGNLMZ At least for now it appears that TCP Optimizer is doing better for my system. That is not to say that cablenut will not be better for others using satellite.
  15. Just for comparison with the new cablenut. These are run with TCP Optimizer. This is intended to have something to compare to during the same time frame. :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 51 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 579 KB) Upload Speed is:: 6 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Test Time:: Tue Feb 8 10:42:55 EST 2005 Bottom Line:: 1X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 170.67 sec Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/id-8LI0PM2O7 :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 963 Kbps about 1 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB) Download Speed is:: 118 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Test Time:: Tue Feb 8 10:46:58 EST 2005 Bottom Line:: 17X faster than 56K 1MB download in 8.68 sec Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/id-IGKJ2DXVL
  16. Vanburen, I was able to get the results below once. Although I have had several in the 1300Kbps range. Most of my test seems to be in the 900'sKbps. I have the consumer account. :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 1648 Kbps about 1.6 Mbps (tested with 1496 KB) Download Speed is:: 201 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 29 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 5.09 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=6PYVEZKSH I know this does not help to answer your question, just my experience. I think I had seen somewhere the DW6000 was caped at 1000Kbps. I will look around to see if I can find anything to help you.
  17. Great Vanburen. It will be refreshing to try some new tweaks. Hope to see something on the forum when you get something ready.
  18. Hello visionlogic and welcome to the forum. First since you have the DW6000 do not look for the kind of download speed that deerkill10 has. He has a 4000 which is much faster that the DW6000. You see Direcway can control the speed of the DW6000 much more than the 4000. As for you proxy question I am afraid I will not be able to help with that since you are talking about using a router. Signal strength varies from each location depending on which bird you are on as well as how much time you installer spent to get you a max. signal. You signal will not effect your browsing experience or speed. It will however effect how fast you get disconnected due to weather, such as rain or snow. I would recommend that you use TCP Optimizer and set it up using this thread. You will find a specially tweaked version within the thread.
  19. More superbowl commercial previews here. Looks like a good night for new commercials. The comments on these is going to be fun to talk about. http://www.superbowl-ads.com/2005/index.html
  20. VanBuren, I have used Cablenut for my satellite connection before with some success. I currently use TCP Optimizer. It would be interesting to see some satellite users trying some cablenut settings. Any chance you may work on a file for Sat?
  21. Well my speed before did not show. It was approx. 16. I have changed my setting back to 20 and 40. Here are the results with those settings up and down. :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 62 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 579 KB) Upload Speed is:: 8 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Test Time:: Sat Feb 5 19:32:47 EST 2005 Bottom Line:: 1X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 128 sec Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/id-74GVSZF2K :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 905 Kbps about 0.9 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB) Download Speed is:: 110 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Test Time:: Sat Feb 5 19:35:48 EST 2005 Bottom Line:: 16X faster than 56K 1MB download in 9.31 sec Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/id-X64M0OKWG This appears to show that each system is different. Wow you would think it would be closer. Who knows. Tweaks I am running now are..... Rev's TCP Optimizer Upload tweak>>>> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CURRENTCONTROLSET SERVICES AFD DWORD VALUE----PARAMETERS DEFAULTSENDWINDOW.......b000 I do believe each system is different, but some of you may want to try this. You should know that I have experienced a slowdown using different tweaks from different websites. I repeat these are the only tweaks I use. I just did a complete restore of my system so everything is at default EXCEPT for the above mentioned tweaks.
  22. Well this goes to show that everyones system is different. I am going to put my setting back in and re-test. I will post the results.
  23. Jlester. Hello. Could you post where exactly in your registry did you make that DWORD value change to 15 hex. Thanks
  24. The upload tweak may not work for everyone, but for me it does. I did make a change to it. Instead of using 18000 or 17a00. I use b000. It works for me. :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 48 Kbps about 0 Mbps (tested with 579 KB) Upload Speed is:: 6 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Test Time:: Fri Feb 4 20:29:36 EST 2005 Bottom Line:: 1X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 170.67 sec Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/id-NUERG3TA1 Not bad for 8:30pm
