i just set my firewall to ask me anything about programs starting and modifying anything so i dont have to worry about it being so secure
-
will i get on LAN between 2 computers with a gigabyte ethernet switch and both comps having gigabyte NIC's. i am currently getting a little under 13,000 KB a second transfer rate
-
i had thathappen to me a few times and i shut it down everytime and i tried to restart it but it said it was already running so i looked around and saw it was running in the processes but wouldnt load so i ended the process and started it and all was fine, never got it again.
-
i tried the dedicated one but speakeasy's central office was too far from me about(13000 feet) and it was'nt good at all and i had the shared one installed with verizons central office(5600 feet) and it works way better like this and the reason it was bad was because verizon had a coil put on my line for speakeasy and wont take it off so i had to switch. also as far as i know most internet garrentee's 80% unless its a T1 or higher and have a contract for it.
-
also try posting on dsl reports.com and see if maybe someone there has a problem there
-
ahh security feature, i knew there is a cap on the residential plan that means no hosting and if you upload too much you will get capped just like on cable. i dont know if thats it but i'd complain my a$$ off or ask for a discount till they find a fix for it. also i wonder if the 2/15 package does what yours does? i would start a topic in verizon or fios whatever its in and ask if anyone else is having the same problem with fios
-
i'm still thinking its a residential line and there is a cap. the business plan anything is $380 for the same speed you have. is there a 30 day trial for the business plan? if yes try it and see if its the same
-
maybe because verizon is still being worked on you get way faster speeds to some sites and others you dont.
-
i understand man but most connection slow down on both ends when being pushed alot i dont know much about fiber yet but maybe it does too.

could it be a cap of some sort? i remember you said it was a residential plan on the other forum and most residential plans cap you for using too much i know cable does but fios might be different with its service. at the $200 price for 5 mb up and 30 mb down you shouldnt be capped while the other customers pay $50 for 2 mb up and 15 mb down. i saw a business plan for $380 from fios which is about double yours and wonder if that has the problem you have.

-
well what speed do you upload files to people at? should be around 600 KB a sec
-
i just came across it one day
-
i should have said this before but you are very lucky cause opt online really sucks here. when i had it i would get around 4500 down and 700 up and gaming was crap with pretty high pings and cant host for crap. my dsl is rock solid right now with a business line 1.5/1.5 for gaming and 768/6000 for downloading
-
yes that is funny but i will do that too when i get my 100/100 line
-
