Why do PC's rule the business world and the personal computer world..? My Dell laptops have done a great job, even the 2002 still works great, of course it's obsolete by today's standards. I like changing hardware and software on my desktops ^several PC brands) just for the experimentation kick, and I'm just your averaged user, not a geek (no pun intended). Seems some Apple users have a 'one track' mindset, or they are so technically inclined they disregard the PC as solid and functional. The PC made the computer World (Microsoft and Intel) and brought Apple along with it. I may own an Apple someday, but my first choice is the 'top' of the line Alienware machine..Apple doesn't excite me, like a PC does.. if you want a Cadillac work-horse,,get an Apple, you pay the price, ..if you want a work-horse, get a PC, and have some fun. AT&T just rebooted my modem at 10:55 PM..took 3 minutes to come up.. downstream reading 12385.. far from the usual 17999.. doing a manual reboot now...........done.....downstream, 13132... will be using the Auto Test tonight.. Robin that thing you got in your hand, they use to fly around the street lights at night, much bigger, big as a bat.. and spit fire.. Maybe that's whats wrong with my AT&T line......DANG!....just went down again...somebody's doing some night work.?

AT&T Uverse suddenly dropped from 17999 Mbps last Thursday (user interface reading). Starts at night and gets better during the day, Have been taking test here to log the differences in drop. Funny, an ATT person called me that morning, before the drop in speed and ask if my connections was ok, and I said yes, it was, until that night. A Technician will come out tomorrow and check the line from the street to the box on the house. The modem reboots itself (sure) and the reading goes down considerably, between 9 PM and 11 Pm every night. The lowest reading on the GUI was about 12.3.. during the night, Test My Net shows lowest about 8.5. Hope they can fix this tomorrow. LOVE that Uverse. PS. used the ATT automated tech, and it works. It will even schedule a day and time for the Tech to come out. But I had to make sure and talked to a real person and they came up with the same conclusion. AT&T has been giving great service. thanks for your time. .

Maybe the OS r Router Firewall is blocking the test. Someone can instruct you on how to assign a port for the test, I think. just a thought.

These are the fastest (top 3) in 'black bold' in my area..this tool gives a good idea if you have name-server problem or just want to test for a better (faster) connection speed.

Must be ESP!... Mud. I listen to Floyd and never get tired of their music. Speaking of CBs, still have a couple for emergency and when I go out on a road trip. Got a little 40 channel and a 80 watt booster, just in case someone nukes the cell towers. I've heard some people do hear voices, and sometimes radio stations in their head. Musta been eating to much coal dust, or those metal braces make tuning in to Floyd Forever (IE radio station guide) easy.

WHos Liable for the loss of info, revenue, downtime, etc.? Sounds like a Lawsuit in the works against the network/data/service provider.

My keyboad is marked on top with Microsoft and on the bottom it has in red letters 'health warning'...? "use of keyboard or mouse may be linked to serious injuries or disorders"... I must have a good one?

When the power came back on, was that the problem. Was their system set to Auto-on when the Power came back? If so, wouldnt that be a bad idea, instead of a manual start-up of the systems. just wondering, Iam no tech.

I got assigned a new DNS server and it makes a lot of difference. The Tech at ATT said the one I had was slow. (google) public 8.8.8.8....8.8.4.4, he was correct, for the East coast it is slower.

Put some load on those Speed test boys. Let see some Real test.

I would pay a membership fee if I could fine a site that did only test of many varieties. Those ads do work, this site had an impact on my decision to buy AT&T Uverse and a new camera (use to put pics on site).
