  1. If adelphia or any cable provider for that matter would move everything to the digital spectrum, then there would be a gigantic space for more speed. But I don't think we'll say antyhing like that until, 2009 i think i saw on BBR. and by then DOCSIS 3.0 will be the standard so...

  2. Re-Do your download with a larder test size. But judging by your upload speed, your should be able to upgrade to the 3.0/768 package. You may not be able to get full speeds, but like I said, judging from your upload, your line can handle more. But yes, your upload is very good for your package price. Congrats

  3. Hey Tyrant1. Welcome to testmy.net, make sure to tell all your friends about it.

Now, post some info about your setup.

    Do you have a router?

If so, how many other computers are on your network, could be one of those is now hogging the bandwidth.

But, heres a tip: Download CableNut, check the post in the Make it Faster section, by VB. Then get VB's CableNut settings, and in CN, Go to File>Open Custom Settings File, browse the folders until you find vanburen's CABLE_FIBER_DSLPPPOE_5000/384. Its named something like that. Any more help, just ask!

  4. Call them up, ask if your are eligible and what they say your distance is. If you are eligible, ask them to upgrade you, if they give you a price over, say 29.99, ask them if you could get the price if you renewed your contract(1 year). if not, threaten to cancel and see what they do for you then. :haha:

  5. hey jordan, how ya doin!

    Are you PPPoE or DHCP?

It looks if your running at PPPoE your about as good as your going to get.

Call verizon and ask if your on Interleave or Fastpath, if on Interleave, asked to be changed.

Go to http://www.broadbandreports.com/prequal/distance and see if you can get a distance check.

If your under 13000 call verizon and ask to be upgraded to 1.5/384

See if you can get a new firmware upgrade for your Router.

Just a little info, your download is 85% of your advertised speed, your upload is at 104% of your advertised. It looks like your line can handle more.

    Hope this helps!

  6. If you are getting the same speed as u were with your old connection speed before the upgrade, there is something wrong.

Some ideas would be here, your internal wiring is old and corroded and could need replaced. Although the problem is most likely this: You are too far out from your CO or RT to be recieving anything better. Verizon probably had their heads up their a$$ when they told you that you could recieve the upgrade and it would increase your speed. Just my 2 cents.

  7. Before, when running a trace route to testmy.net with the modem directly connected, the tracert times out, however, when connected through a router, the tracert works fine. Is this supposed to be that way, I thought it should be timing out when behind a router. Anyone else have this?
