0m3rta Posted December 28, 2005 Author CID Share Posted December 28, 2005 One of my main problems with the 6000 was the transmission errors. I was getting about 25% failed transmissions. On the 7000 right now the numbers are 758106 successful and 2995 failed. .00395 percent of my transmissions have failed. Nice.
Bird Fan Posted December 28, 2005 CID Share Posted December 28, 2005 I used to get 1-5 transmit errors in about 3 days on the 6000. Lets check my transmit errors on the 7000. There were some small business users that had rate code problems this morning on dslreports. I think Direcway is tinkering around with some things, maybe getting ready for the new software update? dwells248 Posted December 29, 2005 CID Share Posted December 29, 2005 My transmission errors were sky high for about a week. I was barely able to even browse. I finally wound up re-commissioning. After that I noticed I was on the 128k rate code and the error rate has dropped dramatically.

dwells248 Posted December 29, 2005 CID Share Posted December 29, 2005 Currently right around dial-up. My best was 78 so far under the 128 rate code. Pings are slow for me today as well and I'm still getting a pretty good amount of errors, but not nearly what I was last week when I was on 256 2/3. I could force range and try for a higher rate code, but I'm going to leave things alone since everything appears to be working better than it was last week. fikester Posted January 2, 2006 CID Share Posted January 2, 2006 Slight drizzle brings transmission errors to record high, as well as speeds are far from consistent for me.....this upgrade has been a pure joke since 12/01/05 for me. Good signal, good cros-pol at the minute download speed is 1000 however can not upload zilch!

ghostmaster Posted January 2, 2006 CID Share Posted January 2, 2006 It is a lot better when they have the systems running correctly. And that really depends on what satellite you are on. Im on AMC9(83W). My speeds went from 1000/64 to 1066/200. Ping times definately improved from an average of 1100ms to 715ms..which translates to faster browsing and faster secure sites... JoeOtto Posted January 4, 2006 CID Share Posted January 4, 2006 Well... I did some stuff after reading some posts. Download still stinks. ~ 200 Kbps. Don't feel like waiting for the tests. 6000 didn't drop that far in the evenings. It is OK for browsing I suppose. Upload is great.
