BTW, TX Code 10 = The transmitter is unable to communicate with the Network Operations Center

I had them from Sunday evening and most of the day monday....level II tech said need transmitter! Obviously this many radios dont go bad at once....this must be a NOC problem, has not happened since Monday ( I was down for alomst 24hours)....weather was not the issue

For you WB fans, I spoke to an installer yesterday who is trying to figure out what to do with his spare time. According to him, they are not installing anywhere right now because they have filled up their bird. Seems that issue is the same everywhere.

And as for speed and performance... Satellite will die for the most part. I have VZW's EVDO coverage less than an hour away from my house, and they are building out further all the time. I have an EVDO capable PC card for my work, and get 900/200 speeds with that for the same price I am paying DWAY, with 400 msec latency and coverage anywhere I have service. In fact, if it wasn't for downloads and uploads, their 1xRTT service beats DWAY browsing now due to their compression software.

WB will be launching another sat late spring /early summer.....to take another bite of Dways rear! Hopefully it will not take as long this go around to start pointing customers.

and SkyTerra will be launching SpaceWay 3 early 2007.  The Direcway platform you have today will be gone in a couple of years, God Willing.  We are using satellites right now that was never meant for broadband communications.  Anik2, which is what WB is using was.  That's one reason they have better performance.

Here is a report directly from mydirecway showing my down/up speeds for the last 1 1/2 weeks. The tech told me that my average speeds had to be lower than 500/100 for them to do anything. Also, they will only use the speeds from the Dway site to decide if you have a problem or not.  I was testing out at 1-3am with the great speeds and he figured that into the mix which totally screwed up the "true" speeds and hid the problem as far as tech support is concerned. I came home every day for lunch to do the speed tests during "business" hours and I think I have a good case now. These speeds SUCK!!! They are not even worthy of $25/month much less the premium price I have to pay for the Pro account! I am on SatMex 5 and my installer says that is the worst bird for performance. The techs won't let me try a different frequency...says it won't make a difference. During the LONG phone support sessions, one of them found a frequency that gave me 90 signal and 98 cross pole but said it wouldn't make a difference in performance. I want to get them to pay for a tech to come out and repoint to a different bird. Are all of you having the same problem with any bird??? I heard that IA8 is better and my tech says he has had no problems with that one. I am SICK AND TIRED OF ALL THIS CRAP AND WILL PULL THE PLUG ON IT AND GET A REFUND IF THEY DON'T FIX IT QUCK!!! This is just so much bullsh#$ it makes me sick! Hopefully, I can talk a guy on the hill above me (a famous Padres baseball player who just retired) to put a wireless antenna on his hill so I can start getting that. I am in a valley and can't get the wireless signal flowing all over the mountains around me. At least that is 500/500 or 1,000/1,000 synchronous and much more reliable!!!

I had your exact same problem, as others here in this thread have also had...

You have to be UNMERCIFUL (but nice) with support. You MUST call at least every other day and e-mail every day. It took me 8 days to get them to commit to a repoint. I was on SatMex 5 and now am on IA8. Make sure you keep EVERY ticket/problem number they give you and reference them when you call back. If you don't, they will want to start over every time. I finally got the committment to repoint during a phone call that occurred after an e-mail threatening the BBB and FCC.
