dman58 Posted January 1, 2006 CID Share Posted January 1, 2006 I've been trying to squeeze a little more speed out of my Dway 6000 modem.
rammolo Posted January 1, 2006 CID Share Posted January 1, 2006 Hi, usually either one setting will replace the others settings, TCP works better for me
cdf216 Posted January 1, 2006 CID Share Posted January 1, 2006 With DirectWay a main problem is latency. try doing a trace route to www.testmy.net and posting the results here. also what are your claimed up and down speeds? maybe we can work together to make a cablenut file that's customized for your connection. ch34p5hot Posted January 2, 2006 CID Share Posted January 2, 2006 CableNut worked much better for me.. the advantage i found with cablenut is if you know your connection then you can just find the right file and apply the settings. TCP optimizer you have to do it yourself.

cdf216 Posted January 2, 2006 CID Share Posted January 2, 2006 doing a traceroute is fairly simple. open a command prompt by clicking start, run, then type cmd when it opens type tracert www.testmy.net

Does that help any? Yikes, That is not good, but maybe it's because of Dway's proxying service. I did find out though that the dway6000 is a 500/120 kbps service. now based on your current latency Let's try this file:

Once I download Cablenut do I just open that file in it? I'm going to have to get off the computer shortly. I'll download the program & if you could tell me what to do after that; I'll check the board & follow your instructions to give it a try. Thanks for all your help. FallowEarth Posted January 2, 2006 CID Share Posted January 2, 2006 Yeah, just open the cablenut adjuster, then open the .ccs file. Click to save the settings to your registry and reboot. Settings are now applied.
