tommie gorman Posted September 28, 2006 CID Share Posted September 28, 2006 anything new for internet coming up for you tommie? If anything it is getting worse. Our ISP is starting to reduce bandwidth. The old modems that you could tweak for speed is being throttled down. I had bought 2 in hopes of going that route. But they closed the door on that option. They were capable of up to 3000 kbps D/L, Now they have capped them at around 1000-1250 kbps. Damned I hope something shows up soon. They make satelite SUCK. When all around you are getting increases, and you are getting capped lower. It should be illegal.

tommie gorman Posted September 29, 2006 CID Share Posted September 29, 2006 Oh I am one of the rare ones still pulling 1700-1800 D/L. But I am sure that will end soon. Just have to sit and decide what to do. My agreement with them is up in November. Maybe something on the 2 blocks away DSL. I will have to decide soon. I will not be held down. I never dealt well with bullies sitting on my chest. I want to kick their butts. You know what I mean.

First of all who is the provider...and is it just possible they are trying to force you to modem swap. They are simply try their old game if you want an upgrade we will charge you for new equipment, and a new 15 month contract all over again "CRAP" to be exact! SO far the upgrade is pretty much crap compared to the others giving up upgrades as part of the service, but Heck No, not Hughes.net! And next you will notice I said "They make satelite SUCK"
