MttFrog13 Posted January 19, 2006 CID Share Posted January 19, 2006 Yeah I try 2 stay away from WMA at all cause just wondering, what's drm and whats wromg with WMA?
Dark_Matter Posted January 19, 2006 CID Share Posted January 19, 2006 DRM (Digital Rights Mangement) alot of places use DRM in the wma format to prevent the user from burning them to disk, and also when the person has a right to burn it there is usually a limit to how many times you can do so. Other than DRM WMA format is awesome when relating to sound quality, but i'm going to have to stick with the classic .mp3.
FGOKURULES Posted January 19, 2006 CID Share Posted January 19, 2006 People Pure WAV files,, I know they are huge but no sound quality lost at all,,, When you need all of your audio,, even the noise our ears can't hear, this is the way to go... FGOKURULES Posted January 19, 2006 CID Share Posted January 19, 2006 a Audio CD that was recorded in 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound in wav format would fit nicely on a DVD+r or DVD-r for all you liberals about format,, and would have prestine audio,, of course you would need a converter/decoder to play it on something other than your computer
peepnklown Posted January 19, 2006 CID Share Posted January 19, 2006 Depends, WAV for the best possible output, samples, my own produced music and I like MP3, OGG, FLAC so far for my compressed music needs or album music.
project51 Posted January 19, 2006 CID Share Posted January 19, 2006 People Pure WAV files,, I know they are huge but no sound quality lost at all,,, When you need all of your audio,, even the noise our ears can't hear, this is the way to go... WAV is too big. That's what lossless is for (no lost at all) though it takes lot of resources to use. eg WMA, mp3 lossless... etc.
FGOKURULES Posted January 20, 2006 CID Share Posted January 20, 2006 That is why I said put it on a Dvd, have the purest audio...

rhapsodyfan Posted January 21, 2006 CID Share Posted January 21, 2006 all you have to do is use Exact Audio Copy with Lame --alt-preset standard. you will have excellent quality MP3 files.
DJVageli Posted January 21, 2006 CID Share Posted January 21, 2006 WAV because its almost pure but too big lol, eventhough when I produce my music thats the first output, then I like them as mp3 at about 192-205 bitrate
rhapsodyfan Posted January 21, 2006 CID Share Posted January 21, 2006 also forget wav use monkey audio or flac! smaller size files but no loss in quality.

project51 Posted January 21, 2006 CID Share Posted January 21, 2006 192K I BELIEVE IS COOL ENOUGH; SOME LIKE THE FULL 320K BUT I DON'T HEAR A DIFF... I use variable 135~215Kbps (WMA) for ripping audio CD.
FGOKURULES Posted January 22, 2006 CID Share Posted January 22, 2006 WHEN RIPPING I use 192K but when wanting to experience the full effect of the audio I leave it on mp3 loseless and get the whole sound

6arett Posted January 22, 2006 CID Share Posted January 22, 2006 I like mp3 format at 320K I can tell a differance on my computer speakers, not so much on headphones though, so on my mp3 player 192 or w/e works fine.
Bird Fan Posted January 22, 2006 CID Share Posted January 22, 2006 I've never noticed a difference in AAC files and MP3 192 files... AAC files are a lot smaller in size, so that's better for ipods and such.
