richcornucopia Posted January 24, 2006 CID Share Posted January 24, 2006 I didn't think he knew how. But that would be a good idea if you never have before is to build a computer. You could probably keep some of the parts from your current sony and put them in a new pc to save some money.
amc11890 Posted January 24, 2006 CID Share Posted January 24, 2006 I would try and find the source of the problem so u can replace that part

humorman Posted January 24, 2006 CID Share Posted January 24, 2006 Check and make sure your ram is in there really really good I added some ram and had same issue would start up or come on but nothing. It was just that the ram wasn't pushed in good I pushed that ram in hard and was about to take it back to store and was in truck pushing some more and it finally went in more and clicked I was pushing really hard so that can be a pain check that and see if it helps. x_6985381 Posted January 24, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 24, 2006 its not the issue of ram, it simple does NOT start at all, gives me power says theres power, but nothing sad thing is it was running for a night i turned it off for 50 mins came back started it up nothing. i just added in a win98 harddrive 20 gigs worth of space to my AMD athlon a whopping 20 gigs filled to 18 gigs already and i just installed it. i thought putting in a new harddrive would be hard, i slipped it and power and the sata cord and it started right up. Easy -Jake.
resijs Posted January 24, 2006 CID Share Posted January 24, 2006 Have you ever overclocked? Is there a burning smell? These are the signs of a bad CPU. Don't immediatly disregard the RAM, it can be anything. I know this happened to me after installing a new network card that was conflicting with my built in LAN.
