asubaseball727 Posted February 7, 2006 CID Share Posted February 7, 2006 Hey, I was just wondering if anyone else's upload is always faster than their dl. My upload speed is always at the max i set it at, when my dl is aroun 25 kbps ( upload limit set at 50 and almost always at that ) I have forwarded a port ( its utorrent so only one port is needed) and am curious as to why this is. Thanks
ccr1958 Posted February 7, 2006 CID Share Posted February 7, 2006 i use utorrent also & if there are plenty of seeds i can max out my DL....don't know what would be causing that unless the seeders have slow up speed
richcornucopia Posted February 7, 2006 CID Share Posted February 7, 2006 What is your advertised upload because if it is going at full speed then yes your download will be slowed down becasue the upload is bogging it down.
asubaseball727 Posted February 7, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 7, 2006 My speed cap is 6Mb download and 384kb Upload
richcornucopia Posted February 7, 2006 CID Share Posted February 7, 2006 Try limiting the upload to like 40 and see if the download doesnt speed up.

asubaseball727 Posted February 11, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 11, 2006 Well on portforward it says to disable block WAN request, is that safe? And also, it says you have to set a static IP.. Is that necessary?
peepnklown Posted February 12, 2006 CID Share Posted February 12, 2006 Did you try the guide I posted?

asubaseball727 Posted February 12, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 12, 2006 Well i used the regular IP ( not router ) and tested it using utorrent and it said its open now. And i tried it at 60% and was gettin round 40kbps but when i went down to 20kbps upload my dl is going at over 200kbps. Thanks so much!
