Marcin541 Posted February 13, 2006 CID Share Posted February 13, 2006 It shows different speeds at different times. Im pretty sure its working at 2.2GHz or whatever 3700 is, because its not as slow as 800MHz, but what is causing it to show such low speed? richcornucopia Posted February 13, 2006 CID Share Posted February 13, 2006 Could you be more specific, what speeds does it show, when, how are you checking these speeds etc?
Marcin541 Posted February 13, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 13, 2006 Sorry forgot to upload pic
richcornucopia Posted February 13, 2006 CID Share Posted February 13, 2006 It is possible that your fsb is set very low, check in your bios to see what it's set at, default is 200.
dlewis23 Posted February 13, 2006 CID Share Posted February 13, 2006 is it like that all the time or when you run a cpu intensive app. does it go to the correct speed.
Marcin541 Posted February 13, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 13, 2006 after playing a game
richcornucopia Posted February 13, 2006 CID Share Posted February 13, 2006 Does the computer slow down to the point where it feels like it really is running at 263 mhz because if not maybe its just reading it wrong somehow. On a sidenote I would recommened you get something instead of mcafee, like kaspersky or panda.
Marcin541 Posted February 13, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 13, 2006 No it seems to be running at the correct speed, i mean the game i play cannot be run on anything below like 400mhz, and it appears to be good. Mcafee is good for me, I have had it since my ISP gave me a year trial back in august, but apparently it expired in march, dunno how, dunno why, but i still get updates on my other pc's and it doenst say it expired, but i cant download it from the site, so i download manually

Swimmer Posted February 14, 2006 CID Share Posted February 14, 2006 if it is speed steping.. which is what basically coolnquite is then that is what you are seeing.. sometime it will be only running at 800mhz other times, like gaming, it will run at full speed.. TimPawlak Posted February 15, 2006 CID Share Posted February 15, 2006 *had same prob* go into ur bios, load optimized defaults then save, restart go to bios again, set things how u like them, then save, restart, should be okay. Thanks, Tim
disturbed Posted February 15, 2006 CID Share Posted February 15, 2006 you either need to adjust ur fsb and the multiplier or turn off the cool and quiet feature of the processor - my runs constantly at 2.2ghz
richcornucopia Posted February 15, 2006 CID Share Posted February 15, 2006 How well do your 3700's overclock?
disturbed Posted February 15, 2006 CID Share Posted February 15, 2006 they overclock decent - it very much so depends on all ur other components, mainly your motherboard/ram and power supply....well thats prett much all of them hehehe LOL - but they do good - some people have more luck than others and are able to go as high as 2.75ghz on stock voltage while others are already at like 1.60v at that speed.....it varies the skill and patience are also a big factor here
