EWO Posted March 13, 2006 CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 Reading the LCCU manual it states that Direcway must not be installed on the computer it is to be installed on. I have a DW7000 - I don't think that it applies to me. Or am I spinning my wheels fooling with the LCCU. Am on 83W, 1330, Sig 85, 256 4/5. For past 3 days my speeds have stabilized at about D800/U124. Any help appreciated. Thx Jim
php Posted March 13, 2006 CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 You don't have to worry about the Direcway software being installed on your computer. As for using the LCCU, personally I don't
Bird Fan Posted March 13, 2006 CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 I think I've got it installed, but it doesn't do anything. I think it's supposed to tweak the max connections setting in IE to make pages load faster, who knows if it works.

tommie gorman Posted March 13, 2006 CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 Welcome the forum EWO. And by the way you should be able to way better speeds than that, try looking here. http://www.testmy.net/forum/b-3 http://www.testmy.net/forum/b-12 The best ways are to do cablenut or TCP Optimizer. http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-1013
EWO Posted March 13, 2006 Author CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 Thanks php and Bird Fan: Was mostly curious abt LCCU. Have PC Optimize installed and trying. Just can't get "Max 1.0 Connections" to take a change fron "8" to "20". Still working to get it figured out with their Support guy. Thx again Jim Thx for you reply Tommie. Will look at those links. Am in Louisiana Lat 30.7 Lon 89.86 "83W" is a little bit of a bend for me. But I get a good signal.
tommie gorman Posted March 13, 2006 CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 If your PC Optimizer is not getting what you want, try this one word for word, it works for some people. http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1703.0 First post it actually some people. Some people like it well. Try it. By the way tech support only makes sure you are getting 200 kbps. Really.

tommie gorman Posted March 13, 2006 CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 Actually your speeds are pretty decent. Some people are getting 1200 D/L, but your U/L is about right I believe, for the 7000. I have the 6000 and mine only U/L 60 kbps usually. I seldom U/L unless I e-mail a pic or 2. Really think if you want to do a little work in those posts I gave you you can see 1200 at a quiet time, like after midnight or 6AM. in fact take a test at one of those times and post. Also take in here. http://www.testmy.net/forum/b-

Will still look at TCP for possible inprovements. Thanx everyone esp "TMN" for this forum.

fikester Posted March 14, 2006 CID Share Posted March 14, 2006 Same way here BF my first speed test is always 1200+ , then run the second test is always under 1070 etc....this speed also matches what I get in real download transfer rates such as fileburst or updating programs and such. Not sure if I cleared the cache each time if it shows 1200+ or not?

And sometimes I clear my cache at night and in the morning I still get the 1200+ on the first test and around 1070 on the second.

Why would you really want something that only lasts a couple seconds? What good does that do on a 100mb download? Why would you be showing that off? Use some logic; I don't see anyone else on this forum showing off speed bursts.
