LCCU Install Question

Recommended Posts

Reading the LCCU manual it states that Direcway must not be installed on the computer it is to be installed on. I have a DW7000 - I don't think that it applies to me.  Or am I spinning my wheels fooling with the LCCU. Am on 83W, 1330, Sig 85, 256 4/5.  For past 3 days my speeds have stabilized at about D800/U124. Any help appreciated. Thx

Jim

Thanks php and Bird Fan:   Was mostly curious abt LCCU.  Have PC Optimize installed and trying. Just can't get "Max 1.0 Connections" to take a change fron "8" to "20".  Still working to get it figured out with their Support guy.

Thx again

Jim

Thx for you reply Tommie.  Will look at those links.

Am in Louisiana Lat 30.7 Lon 89.86  "83W" is a little bit of a bend for me. But I get a good signal.

If your PC Optimizer is not getting what you want, try this one word for word, it works for some people. http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1703.0

First post it actually some people. Some people like it well. Try it. By the way tech support only makes sure you are getting 200 kbps. Really.

The above Figures are from D'way Speed test. ( D800/U124)

Just did a Down on Testmy.net at 939 and here is the Upload(both at 2992)

Am on Home Plan (.74, 1 watt)  What's that, D1000/U200 ????

Think UP could be a tad better.

Actually your speeds are pretty decent. Some people are getting 1200 D/L, but your U/L is about right I believe, for the 7000. I have the 6000 and mine only U/L 60 kbps usually. I seldom U/L unless I e-mail a pic or 2. Really think if you want to do a little work in those posts I gave you you can see 1200 at a quiet time, like after midnight or 6AM. in fact take a test at one of those times and post.

Also take in here. http://www.testmy.net/forum/b-21

I've done all the things and how come mine's not running at 1200?  :?:

Just looked at D'ways web site to check published speeds for Home Plan.

They state 700/128. Guess 947/132 on TMN this morn was OK.  Will still look at TCP for possible inprovements.

Thanx everyone esp "TMN" for this forum.

Anyway EWO, that will give you a good idea of what I am talking about. Don't worry too much, it sometimes takes a little testing. And the Optimizer takes 2 or 3 days to totally set in, but you should be able to get most of the responsiveness right away. It is good to test with the 2992 file you have been, also. I think a couple of others are getting 1200's also.

Enjoy. ;)

Same way here BF my first speed test is always 1200+ , then run the second test is always under 1070 etc....this speed also matches what I get in real download transfer rates such as fileburst or updating programs and such. Not sure if I cleared the cache each time if it shows 1200+ or not?

I never do tests after waiting about 10 mins, it's normally a couple hours.

And sometimes I clear my cache at night and in the morning I still get the 1200+ on the first test and around 1070 on the second.

Just trying to let EWO know that he might be able to get better speeds, not to get you riled up. Here is a 3rd speed test from tm24ns58:

3rd test

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 1198 Kbps about 1.2 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)

Download Speed is:: 146 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net  (server1)

Test Time:: 2006/03/16 - 6:30am

Bottom Line:: 21X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 7.01 sec

Tested from a 2992 kB file and took 20.453 seconds to complete

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)

Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 27.45 % faster than the average for host (direcpc.com)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-Z1JORULVM

Quote"I run the TCP Optimizer in The Rev.'s post. I also run XPSmoker. I always keep my disk defragged."

So yes you can see real speeds of 1200. And if that was your first test then you could probably get another 250 kbps download speed, easy.  :D

Any other questions, just PM me. Thanks and good luck.

Ok, about the real 1200kbps speeds. A speed burst is not a "real" speed; through all our arguments about it, you still don't realize that. Why would you really want something that only lasts a couple seconds? What good does that do on a 100mb download? Why would you be showing that off? Use some logic; I don't see anyone else on this forum showing off speed bursts.
