dragonfly3377 Posted March 13, 2006 CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 My speed has been all over the planet the last few weeks! Anyone else having issues with Comcast lately? I did get a 7.1 download speed last week but the last two days its been between .7 and 4.6. I have a 6.0 cap and was running an average of 5.0 to 6.3 for months. I did a line quality check and it shows that I am good. I have deliberatly used Windows default settings for these tests/ no cablenut settings used. http://www.dslreports.com/quality/nil/2004218 http://www.broadbandreports.com/tweakr/block:3d993b4?service=cable&speed=6000&os=winXP&via=normal :::.. Gore Posted March 22, 2006 CID Share Posted March 22, 2006 i have the same problem except that im paying for the 8mb and this is what im getting... Comcast sucks ass, i've had it for almost a year now, and my speed has been crap for the past 7 months.... Also when im playing any PC game it spikes like crazy.. I dont have anymore options here in my area except for DSL, but DSL sucks balls. I think im going back to Dial Up, I was happy with my 10kb download and paying less. :::.. drone540 Posted March 23, 2006 CID Share Posted March 23, 2006 You guys are pretty lucky compared to what I'm suffering here in Atlanta. :::.. My TV was on most of the time, then started to drop out also slowly. I'm not sure what they are doing but I better call them up. I've been having problems like my modem timing out for a while now.... but this is insane now.... I can barely load a webpage.... I'd take my 8Mbit connection that sometimes drops out... rather than something slower then 56kbit, that can't stay connected to anything. 46er Posted April 26, 2006 CID Share Posted April 26, 2006 Problem found, I hope. The line to the house is bad, but I'm told I will see a BIG difference and TV reception will be better as well. And I thought I needed new glasses. The outside line is at least 18 years old, so it makes some sense. Time will tell, but with the tests I have already done, there will be something to compare it too.
