majicaldreemer Posted March 26, 2006 CID Share Posted March 26, 2006 I called direcway to re-estaablish my account as I had turned it off about a year ago. I was informed I needed to buy a whole new system. When I questioned as to why seeing my system is only a few years old I was told everyone has to. I asked if he was saying that every person using direcway was going to have to purchase a new system in o rder to stay on and he said yes this is correct and is happening soon. Any one else hear about this?
ghostmaster Posted March 26, 2006 CID Share Posted March 26, 2006 Did this happen to be a DW4000 system?
Bird Fan Posted March 26, 2006 CID Share Posted March 26, 2006 It better not be the switch to HughesNet causing us to have to buy new systems. Maybe the Indians can no longer understand English.
ghostmaster Posted March 26, 2006 CID Share Posted March 26, 2006 They aren't going to make everyone purchase new systems....they would lose all of their customers... If you are trying to re-commission a DW4000 system, you are out of luck. They are stopping that. If you have a DW6000 or above system, you shouldn't have a problem.... fikester Posted March 27, 2006 CID Share Posted March 27, 2006 I'm sure if thats the case (everyone buy new equipment).......its most likely in the contract. This doesn't sound right......only thing I have read is the one way systems are no longer supported. -- from what other sites are saying no more DW4000's will be commissioned.....nothing about the dish or the current customers already using the 4000's.
