richcornucopia Posted May 8, 2006 CID Share Posted May 8, 2006 A bit off topic, but I've got a question about external hardrives. I've got 2 320 gig wd sataII hardrives right now but they are both full. Unfortunately my motherboard only has 2 sata ports and I like the speed of sata so I would like to add more. Do you have any recommendation for external enclosures for sataII drives?(maybe on that could fit both drives, I'd also like the sacrifice the least speed possible, would usb 2 be best?) EAGER TO LEARN MORE an enclosure is basically a plastic case that allows you to make an internal harddrive usable as an external harddrive. for example, say you have a 300gb <b>internal</b> harddrive. you can buy an enclosure and put the <b>internal</b> harddrive into it, and it becomes an external harddrive for example, u can buy one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817146307 Combine it with one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822152045 And end up with a 300GB external harddrive for under $150.
