FiosFiend Posted July 31, 2006 CID Share Posted July 31, 2006 Okay this is a little off the wall. I just got a new cell phone and it just happens to have a USB connection. It's got the little mini USB connector on the phone and I just happen to have one of those cables from another device. So I downloaded the software (driver) for my laptop and I set the phone up as a USB modem. I'm able to get my dial up software to recognize the phone and it calls AND connects to the Internet. But that's as far as I can get. I can't web-surf and my email doesn't work. I am connecting to the Internet because oddly enough my VPN software for my company will connect but nothing else seems to work. I'm sure it's probably something simple............any suggestions? tommie gorman Posted July 31, 2006 CID Share Posted July 31, 2006 I may be a little off base, but is that part of your phone package? Just because the phone is capable of doing this. does not mean you are paying to have that feature enabled. I think picture phones are that way.
