icg1032 Posted January 16, 2007 CID Share Posted January 16, 2007 I wrote a email to Mr. Willner(CEO of Insight) and complained about paying $44.95 for Internet when new customers get it for $30.00. I got a call from Insightbb this morning saying my email was sent from the home office telling them to lower my bill to $30.00. So to Insightbb I say thanks. That's great, but how long is that rate of $30.00 for? I honestly can't see them reducing your rate forever just because of an e-mail to the CEO. If it was that easy, everyone would be doing it. And it that's the case, I'm going to contact the CEO's of the phone company, the satellite dish company, the internet company, the cellular company, etc., etc. LOL
coknuck Posted January 16, 2007 CID Share Posted January 16, 2007 When I talked to Insight this morning it sounded like forever. I all ready had cable TV. I've been with Insight since the bought out the last cable provider. Here is a coppy of the email and reply. Dear Mr. ****** I'm glad we could find a way to show our appreciation for your continued business. Thank you! It really gripes me to see new customers get Broadband for $30.00 and I have to pay $44.95. I have cable TV service and it great. But I think its really wrong for Insight to treat its older customers this way. I like it when you ask for the bundle price and Customer Reps. say turn you service off for 3 months and you to can get the price break. You say Insight is a Company that cares, so if it does do some thing about this injustice. Sincerely, Richard Mr. Willner, I was just contacted by Betty who's supervisor is Beth. icg1032 Posted January 17, 2007 CID Share Posted January 17, 2007 Oh, so then $30.00 is the normal pricing, not just a special to grab new customers, right? That's different. If they lower the price, then they should lower it for everyone and it's good that you complained and so should all the other subscribers. Good job. tommie gorman Posted January 17, 2007 CID Share Posted January 17, 2007 In my book a caring co. does not have to get an e-mail to lower everyone to the new price. It should kick in automatically. Just my thoughts.

Nefer Posted February 5, 2007 CID Share Posted February 5, 2007 I have Charter, which apparently is supposed to suck, but works very well for me. The regular 3M service I once had was fine, but I'd never tested my speed. Charter had offered to upgrade me to the 5M service, but it would be an extra $30 a month, which I felt wasn't worth it. I moved 4 months ago to a house *just* past their last servicable address and had to go back to dial-up, which made me more miserable than you can imagine. DSL wasn't even available here. Last week, Charter suddenly decides to do the right thing and run service to the remaining 2 houses on my road, so of course I jumped at it. I decided to upgrade my 3M service to the 5M service because they offered it to me for only $10 more per month. After the cable was run through the house and installed, I was on the phone with Charter verifying my order when the lady informed me that they now have 10M service. I asked for the cost, braced for the worst. Only another $10 a month. Guess what I went with? So my total bill for everything - equipment, channels, premium services, 10M internet, blah blah for FOUR boxes (2 separate lines had to be run to split to 4 boxes and a cable modem) including 1 Hi-Def box with DVR, best available channels package including all movies (but not premium sports LOL) *including* all taxes, fees, etc - is $145.72 per month. They bundled something and gave me a deal somewhere, because when I had the same set-up with 3M internet at my last address, my bill was $131/mo. They said this price is guaranteed for 1 year, though I don't have to keep it that long. Wonder what it'll cost next year? By then I might be too addicted to the speed to give it up. Yes, I'm sure I will be. :::..
