ctlenator Posted August 22, 2006 CID Share Posted August 22, 2006 Anyone know how to turn them off? I mean like every time a page refreshes or you hit enter in a form, it makes a click sound. I've gone into my control panel and internet options, but I'm not seeing a place to turn them off. It gets quite annoying.
MYRIAGON Posted August 22, 2006 CID Share Posted August 22, 2006 hello ctlenator....Welcome to the forum. Try going to control panel / Sounds and audio devices / Sounds. In the list of sounds at the bottom, scroll down to the "Start Navigation" sound and click on it, then in the dropdown box choose "None" and apply. Hope that's what you're looking for.... tommie gorman Posted August 22, 2006 CID Share Posted August 22, 2006 Welcome to the forum ctlenator Were you looking for mute? Or wondering if someone else heard the same strange sounds, and knew how to fix it?

Thanks, that worked. A friend of mine tried to tell me how to do it, but either he's an idiot, or I am.
cholla Posted August 22, 2006 CID Share Posted August 22, 2006 That's the best way .it turns off Windows sounds. It still lets you leave the volume control on so if you want to listen to something on the internet you can.You can use mute when you want to also. I just have IE6 in it there is a setting in Internet Options/advanced under multimedia to "turn off sound in web pages" .That would probably work but not what you would want. I actually turned the sounds off a few minutes after I updated to IE7 a few months ago. I was just agreeing with ctlenator on how annoying the clicks are... cholla Posted August 22, 2006 CID Share Posted August 22, 2006 I can't install IE7 with Windows ME so I have IE6. So I guess IE7 makes more noise than IE6 ? Just joking a minute ago but the jungle sounds a cool for a short time.

That stops sounds/music that is embedded in web pages from playing.
