tommie gorman Posted October 15, 2006 CID Share Posted October 15, 2006 Man, where did your speeds go? I thought they were much closer to 6.0 than that.
Reddog99 Posted October 15, 2006 CID Share Posted October 15, 2006 If you have a satellite connection, Apple has a program called 'Broadband Tuner' that you can run to tune your network settings: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/20020 Pat

Swimmer Posted October 15, 2006 CID Share Posted October 15, 2006 huh... well here is what I found... there was a patched released last year to allow users to changed the TCP windows on their apple products.. http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/broadbandtuner10.html It also looks like from the command prompt you can enter these commands to configure the windows manually.. sysctl -w kern.ipc.maxsockbuf=16777216 sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.sendspace=1048576 sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.recvspace=1048576 http://macosx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5157 ^ that post give a run down about what each command does.. I guess there is a way to tweak a MAC..

Reddog99 Posted October 16, 2006 CID Share Posted October 16, 2006 If you enter those commands directly from the terminal, the settings will be lost on the next reboot. Use the program 'Broadband Tuner' to have the settings retained. Pat
