May be a port issue. What do you get for a speed test?

tommie gorman Posted December 11, 2006 CID Share Posted December 11, 2006 It simply won't plug in, or it won't come on?
outlaw69 Posted December 11, 2006 Author CID Share Posted December 11, 2006 It wont connect to the internet directly from the cable modem,I've always had that problem,it has problems getting the IP.But problem is when downloading a big file the speed just drops and it stops communicating. I got TWC coming out tomorrow.I was on the phone with them and they said the modem, router and pc look fine.

Swimmer Posted December 24, 2006 CID Share Posted December 24, 2006 Have you tried to reset the router recently? Is the IP address that you are give 169.xxx.xxx.xxx? I have never heard of an onboad NIC going bad with out some type of outside problem like a power surge.. Has the onboard NIC ever worked?
