I play Halo PC and I live in Central USA with my ping (latency) always around 100-133 or even 167. I was wondering if there was a tweak out there especially for gamers for there pings to lower. I bought the D-Link Gaming Lounge DGL-4300 and when I had it set up, I only saw a diffrance in my lead as in you have to aim ahead of them to kill them unless u have 0-33 ping which no one in halo has unless you host them. I Have Qwest DSL with the plan that is the fastest out for Qwest. I would REALLY apreciate it if anyone could help me out! moonlightofdeath Posted March 15, 2007 CID Share Posted March 15, 2007 There is probably nothing you can do with the internet latency except getting a plan with a faster upload. Personally, everytime I host a game in Halo, my ping is 0 and everyone else ranges from 60-170 which is average and i still have to shoot ahead of the person so I don't think it makes a difference. The thing is that even if he had a ping of 0, he would still have to shoot ahead as I always have to. The only way to reduce the *lag* would be to get a plan with faster upload rate. However, what is really funny is when I person lags to badly they can't move, headshot them, then when they unlag, they run in a random direction and just randomly die. . Lag kills. Quick question, are you on a Wireless router, because if you are, see what happens if you have a straight connection to the internet. I am running on Cat5 which to my extent I think is the fastest out there for a line for DSL. I also can have wireless on at the same time but currently I have wireless disabled on my gaming lounge 4300 Router.
