starship_troopers Posted May 17, 2007 CID Share Posted May 17, 2007 Ummm.. How did you do that? Did you look in the wrong location? no i had downloaded suse 10.1, never touched the dvd i burned the iso to. then downloaded suse 10.2 and accidentally grabbed the 10.1 dvd instead of the 10.2 dvd right after i used gparted. and i didnt think about it untill i had like 5 minutes of install left
Swimmer Posted May 17, 2007 Author CID Share Posted May 17, 2007 You might actually be able to upgrade. Try placing the 10.2 into the DVD drive and selecting upgrade for the installation type. I have never tried this method, I have always just reformatted.

Does SuSE detect it or not? Sorry to hear that about your mom , hope she is feeling better now well i have an acer aspire 3100 laptop with the integrated "Acer InviLink 802.11b/g Wi-Fi!" is all i know about it. and i dont think it detects it because i have the wifi switch turned on but nothing happens. it just says the my network manager is off....and wont let me turn it on, so i use an ethernet cord and all is fine. Swimmer Posted May 27, 2007 Author CID Share Posted May 27, 2007 It isn't going to matter to much... The way that the guide is going to be written is using the windows drivers anyways. Just wanted to know if it detected it.

Swimmer Posted May 29, 2007 Author CID Share Posted May 29, 2007 Not hard.. I can give you the command for suse 10.2 that will pretty much do it for you.. gnome-xgl-switch --enable-xgl Run that as root in a terminal window..

Swimmer Posted May 29, 2007 Author CID Share Posted May 29, 2007 10.1 doesn't have all of the packages installed by default.. Then again 10.1 was really flawed from the beginning..
