cmoore2004 Posted May 24, 2007 CID Share Posted May 24, 2007 Curious about the speeds everyone is getting, and where you're getting them. I'm in southwestern Michigan, in the sticks, near Jackson. These speeds are about the norm for me. Actually, they're usually better in Linux. ::::::::::.. testmy.net test results ..:::::::::: Download Connection is:: 936 Kbps about 0.94 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 114 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 494 Kbps about 0.5 Mbps (tested with 1013 kB) Upload Speed is:: 60 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Server 1) Test Time:: 2007/05/23 - 8:07pm D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-L3JFYO7SD U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-4QL2TRE6V User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; IEMB3; IEMB3) Note: If your speed test shows over 2.4Mbps, please don't post it. cmoore2004 Posted June 12, 2007 Author CID Share Posted June 12, 2007 It's not that. Certain HA's use some sort of compression. I did make that point in my original post and asked not to post them, but I guess that was "overlooked".

Well ya see grandpa, this friend of mine named of grandpa, hey you might know him his name is a bit much like yours. Said it was in the signal strength. are you using an antennae yet? What is your signal strenght and are you using the TCP Optimizer yet? I think that about covers it. By the way I am running a -69 signal right now. Last Result: Download Speed: 885 kbps (110.6 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 528 kbps (66 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latest testing; There seems to be a problem in the uploading throughput in the router card setup but I do get better uploads (at about 260 kB/sec) on my 2 other machines running XP Pro. This machine is Win2000 and worked well on satellite.
