grift3r74 Posted August 10, 2007 CID Share Posted August 10, 2007 For those who can still access their canopies, In the homepage, you can see it... Home-> General Status -> Its found in the Device type Subcategory.. Save it so if your canopy gets blocked.. You can use the MAC address method.. snip07 Posted August 10, 2007 CID Share Posted August 10, 2007 damn! if only i put in my photographic memory the MAC Address when the contractor installed the canopy before!
jpveneracion Posted August 10, 2007 CID Share Posted August 10, 2007 why would the canopy get blocked?
fr0stbound Posted August 10, 2007 CID Share Posted August 10, 2007 smartbro doesn't want us tweaking with the canopy. being able to will let us have more speed than they advertised(hence the 400+ kbps club)
snip07 Posted August 10, 2007 CID Share Posted August 10, 2007 yeah they blocked the canopy sm for us not to modify the settings

jpveneracion Posted August 10, 2007 CID Share Posted August 10, 2007 thanks for the welcome... ^__^ my smartbro was just installed teusday... and browsing your tips gave me the 400kbps mark... thanks for that... ^__^ and as of now i can still access my canopy settings... ^__^
snip07 Posted August 10, 2007 CID Share Posted August 10, 2007 lucky you jpveneracion you can acces your canopy as for me i havent access it since installed
jpveneracion Posted August 10, 2007 CID Share Posted August 10, 2007 that's because when he accessed the canopy i used my telescopic eyes that i used when copying exams way back in college to look for the ip address but it's the default 169.254.1.1 right? plus i told the installer that i would be installing a wireless router for my system so maybe that's why he left it unlocked... ^__^
coolbuster2007 Posted August 10, 2007 CID Share Posted August 10, 2007 basically after a new installation, you can always retrieve the canopy ip address by just looking at the browsing history of your internet explorer
jpveneracion Posted August 10, 2007 CID Share Posted August 10, 2007 yup... but my friend cannot access their canopy settings... too bad for them... we did the test at the same time and he said that their tower is just 100 meters away but when the results came up it's just 180 kbps... coolbuster2007 Posted August 10, 2007 CID Share Posted August 10, 2007 that's how inconsistent smartbro's speed is...
jpveneracion Posted August 10, 2007 CID Share Posted August 10, 2007 inconsistent as they are... (got frequent disconnect early morning) smartbro is my only choice aside from dial up.... (which is still smart by the way...) i use my n70 and smart sim card but not on 3g mode so it sucks big time...

-Procopio- Posted August 14, 2007 CID Share Posted August 14, 2007 Don't worry. I've heard something that all the base stations will undergo expansion. They will just prioritize all congested base stations with several complaints. As far as I know, they've already expanded some base stations in Bulacan, Cavite and some part of Laguna. More to come guys.. Let's try to understand them, Base station expansion is not that easy..
