tommie gorman Posted August 12, 2007 CID Share Posted August 12, 2007 Clear your cache OR you got way boosted.
cajaks2 Posted August 12, 2007 Author CID Share Posted August 12, 2007 Ah sorry for bad typing on the first post. I have Comcast internet, my regular speed was 8/768. I just downlaoded microsfot office 2007 trial and it started at 3.06 Mbps and ended at 2.60 Mbps, is that just powerboost? the download was 300 megabytes. If it was just powerboosted i thought that just lasted a few seconds. Also FIOS is only a few miles (less than 10) away,i dont know if that has anything to do with it. EDIT: Oh and all last week my modem kept freezing itself.
coknuck Posted August 12, 2007 CID Share Posted August 12, 2007 Welcome to the forum! Hope you enjoy your stay here. What you are experiencing is Comcast's Boost. It might just now been implemented in your area.

coknuck Posted August 12, 2007 CID Share Posted August 12, 2007 Your right it doesn't keep up that speed for a long time. It morre like 10-20 second burst. Its still better than nothing!

And it's STILL $3 a month cheaper than Roadrunner or Comcast.

tommie gorman Posted August 15, 2007 CID Share Posted August 15, 2007 philp, How you been? Are you back or just visiting? I thought maybe you had been swallowed by a volcano or, or picked up by cute aliens, or something.
philp Posted August 17, 2007 CID Share Posted August 17, 2007 Well, she's not an alien, but I have been occupied lately. I can't get on at work since January, because of this damn "Websense" blocker they have. Pisses me right off! But I'll be on when I can. Good to see you guys are still here! I think this is lasting longer than speedboost should. it sometimes goes up to 500 KBps upload but then drops down to 250-
