jun101ph Posted September 29, 2007 Author CID Share Posted September 29, 2007 It means to say, TMN is inaccurate if you are outside US territory. speedtest.net is somewhat more accurate since it regionalize the testing servers.
jun101ph Posted September 29, 2007 Author CID Share Posted September 29, 2007 My test result after peak hours: vs. Base on the result still different ofcourse but atleast closer.(even not that close.hehe ) WARNING!!...do not post linking urls to other speed test sites per forum rules
Azgauth Posted September 29, 2007 CID Share Posted September 29, 2007 I live in the Philippines, my result speed also fluctuate sometimes... I get to download at the speed of 60 - 90 kb/s yet my TMN speedtest result shows that I am only 250 - 350kbps fast and I can only download up to 45kb/s
jun101ph Posted September 29, 2007 Author CID Share Posted September 29, 2007 WARNING!!...do not post linking urls to other speed test sites per forum rules <--- i am sorry i don't intent to undermined the TMN. peace!!!
dlewis23 Posted September 30, 2007 CID Share Posted September 30, 2007 This is not TMN's fault. At that time there is more traffic flooding accrost the Trans-Pacific Internet Pipe from the US to Asia. So naturlally its going to get slowed down because of the less avaiable bandwdith. You get a faster result from speedtest.net because that server you are testing from is 1. much closer, and 2. is on a much less congested network at that time. Also when you are that far away from a server you are always going to have a much slower test result, it doesnt matter what is on the other end.
