maybe you're talking about APs? my location is south of the base station 2009 feet away. i know its the basestation coz its a tower of smart. it contains 6 APs (6X60=360degrees) . 3 of which i can switch to. if you're really talking about basestations, then you have to redirect/realign your canopy, hoping to find other basestations.

@justinlay im just wondering what type of equipment your ISP is using. here in the philippines, our ISP uses motorola canopy.

yes im using a proxy (proxy.meridian.ph) port 8080. i always use this proxy because its necessary for us to have a faster connection. when not using the proxy, our connection olny averages about 150Kbps.i tried to log in without the proxy and it worked. i didn't anymore see the message: "Sorry Guest, you are banned from posting or sending personal messages on this forum. We are courteous here. If you cannot follow the rules dont come back. " well i guess all smartbro subscribers are affected by this if they are using the proxy. maybe someone had been IP banned but the IP that was banned is being used by a lot of smartbro subscribers.

did someone tried monitoring their speed while testing their bandwidth? i mean by using a program like netstat live or bandwidth monitor pro while testing their speed. sometimes my test results are like 450+ but in the bandwidth monitor pro i only get 350-415kbps. i usually do this when i want really accurate speeds.

guys... does the hard disk free space really affect internet connection? i have a 4 year old 30GB matrox hardisk. i have only 4.46GB left. connection seems ok if im using proxy. but its like connection from hell when not using proxy even on off peak hours... speed only averages 150kbps

just yesterday, i noticed that my IP address (based from the tests here in testmy.net) changed from 203.87.187.162 (w/c is i think the IP address of virtually every smartbro subscriber here in naga city) to 121.1.25.82. also noticed the new host speed, its 605Kbps from my previous 299Kbps. also noticed the proxy servers gives me greater speed again. unlike for the previous months that eventhough im using a proxy, the speed wont change at all. @tonio you are sure lucky !! mine cannot reach speeds like that. i only get a max of 380Kbps+. well thats what ive subscribed for, finally im getting the speed that i deserve. hehehe...

hi! ive noticed that i can set my max sustained data rate to 7000kbps(DL+UL), unlike other subscribers that posted their max sustained data rate is only 1000kbps. the default values are 3500kbps (DL) + 3500kbps (UL). im experimenting on it if changing the vaules will increase my speed. im planning to set it to 6500kbps (DL) + 500kbps (UL). haha!! lyk its gonna work... :2funny:

hey coolbuster i tried to port forward using PFconfig but no result with the download speeds. utorrent always display that triangle thingy in d middle. it doesnt go green. has anyone been successful to port forward here?
