coolbuster2007 Posted November 11, 2007 CID Share Posted November 11, 2007 Hello there beautiful nel-sama. Welcome to tmn. I suggest you disable your firewall first. If you still get the ping time outs after the firewall is disabled, then something on the network is not configured correctly, most likely the ip, subnet mask or dns in the computers you are attempting to connect. The only way you can fix this is to report to the pldt dsl customer support for correction. Your computer is OKAY but your dsl line is busted. No tweaks even the 20 steps or any other program tweaks can resolve Request timed out problem.
tdawnaz Posted November 13, 2007 CID Share Posted November 13, 2007 she hasn't been back since she first posted...she must not have connection at all now...hopefully the service rep will come and hook her back up
coolbuster2007 Posted November 13, 2007 CID Share Posted November 13, 2007 as what i've understood in her second post, she just replaced her old anti-virus program with my recommended one and she got back her connection. take a look at the series of events: and she thought it was the culprit for start up crash, but turned out it ws her newly installed anti-virus.. Wonder what anti-virus it is... thanks to you guys.. my previous anti virus is AVG then now i'm using avast..
ghostmaster Posted November 14, 2007 CID Share Posted November 14, 2007 Maybe those IPs simply block ICMP requests. Especially if they are DNS servers....
