K_Starks_87 Posted April 27, 2008 CID Share Posted April 27, 2008 I reinstalled Windows Vista Then I Got A Speaker Symbol With A Red X. So When I Rolled Over It I Got A Message Saying "No Audio Output Device Installed" So I Downloaded Sigma Tel And RealTek. Well Now It Is Still The Same Symbol But Now Its Saying "Volume 0 Speakers 2-Sigma Tel High Definition Audio CODEC" But Still No Sound And When I Right Click And Click Open Volume Mixer I Get "No Audio Device Installed" So I GO To System Information And Click On Componets-Sound Device It Says RealTek High Def Audio And It Says The Status Is Error. It Says The Same Thing For Sigma Tel High Def Audio Codec. I'm Really Lost What Can I Do To Restore My Sound Please Help!!!!!!

tommie gorman Posted April 27, 2008 CID Share Posted April 27, 2008 It sounds to me that you need to uninstall the sound drivers. I could tell you in XP, but no idea in Vista. I used to have problems like that in XP, I'd uninstall it and reboot and it would reinstall it correctly by itself. Best of luck with that one. Buntz Posted April 27, 2008 CID Share Posted April 27, 2008 To remove the sound drivers in Vista you have to do this. Click on Control Panal / then click on Programs & Features / Then click on the sound drivers you want to uninstall / A permission box will come up telling you are about to uninstall the drivers, click on continue / reboot after it is done removing the drivers.
