coknuck Posted August 17, 2008 CID Share Posted August 17, 2008 If any of you are having problems updating and get "missing bin.file". here is the fix for it. 1) go to http://www.grisoft.com/ww.download-update 2) make a directory (file) on your desktop called AVG 3) download AVI: 270.6.4 4) download IAVI: / 1616 5) move the dowloaded files to the directory you made called AVG 6) launch AVG 7) select tools -> update from directory select the directory called AVG where you put the downloads That's it. Should be fixed.

tommie gorman Posted August 17, 2008 CID Share Posted August 17, 2008 Is this with version 8? Or all versions. I still have 7.5 running. And it seems ok.
coknuck Posted August 17, 2008 Author CID Share Posted August 17, 2008 I use AVG 8.0. Yes, Grisoft knows about it and is working on it. I didn't have the problem on my XP Comp but I did with the Vista Comp. I guess its the luck of the draw if it happens to you or not.
tommie gorman Posted August 17, 2008 CID Share Posted August 17, 2008 I am on the XP also. The vista is in for video card replacement under warranty. So that might also be it.
ghostmaster Posted August 17, 2008 CID Share Posted August 17, 2008 Looks like they have fixed it. I just did an update and it worked without the error. That was quick...
