mudmanc4 Posted September 24, 2009 CID Share Posted September 24, 2009 My phone plugs in to my pc with a usb cable instead of bluetooth Duh me :/ What do you set that up as in the phone, Iv'e only used mine as blue tooth, never tethered. We have almost the same device, mines flashed with the latest mighty rom, and all the SPB cabs, but the connections should still go the same. If you have time to fill me in. justinlay Posted September 25, 2009 CID Share Posted September 25, 2009 Im with verizon and i use there software. When I installed the software it gave the option to use bluetooth or cable. I have mine setup to use the cable. The steps to enable the tethering i haft to turn off the cellular radio under comm manager. Then go to start> programs and you will see modem link icon. Go there and under pc connection it gives you the option to use bluetooth or usb. You would use usb, and under menu you click start to enable the modem. Then i go back to the software i have on my pc and click connect and thats it im online.

justinlay Posted September 27, 2009 CID Share Posted September 27, 2009 I cant leave anything alone. lol next is to change roms to check speeds here, ill post them , and the rom / rom version as i flash .. My biggest concerns is bricking the damn thing lol. I don't know if my warranty will cover that lol
mudmanc4 Posted September 27, 2009 CID Share Posted September 27, 2009 My biggest concerns is bricking the damn thing lol. I don't know if my warranty will cover that lol well thats always a concern , thats why i have there full insurance , just claim stupid if something goes wrong. lol But there are now safety features that will prevent this from happening called signing. The geeks that write the unlock tool, set it up so a rom that is not meant for that device , will not flash. Once you have unlocked the pre set security feature hat it ships with, then your all set. No worries of bricking , and many times when we think our device is bricked, there are things that can be done to repair it. It's really opened up anew world in mobile devices, the stock rom is extremely primal compared to most cooked roms. And many of the cooked roms , and features have gained the attention of the writers of the stock roms , therefore there sometimes implemented into stock roms now. justinlay Posted September 27, 2009 CID Share Posted September 27, 2009 Well i do have full insurance in it. I Dont know why i said warranty LOL . The thing that bugs me the most verizon locks up the gps. The only way you can use it is to pay there 9.99 fee to use there crappy software to use it. All the places ive been reading you can use a sprint or alltel rom to fix that.

mudmanc4 Posted September 27, 2009 CID Share Posted September 27, 2009 Yea i gave up on that a while ago, im not paying for that when those satellites are free to use, they want $ for there program ,sp i settle for googlemaps. not like tom tom or those others , but it works good, and its free. your device should have something called "quick gps " which keeps your location updated , if you have it enabled, then googlemaps will work with that , i think thats how it works anyhow .
