sholsten Posted February 28, 2005 CID Share Posted February 28, 2005 I am considering the 8 mb Premium upgrade when they get it here. Is it really worth it?
JustinOhioRR Posted February 28, 2005 CID Share Posted February 28, 2005 Depends on the cost.....Im not too aware of the cost.....last i knew it was $84.95 a month.......... Whats the upload? isnt it only 512? i Get 5/384 for 30 a month...........cant beat that........I guess if you need that much bandwidth....sure but i dont really think its necessary. DJVageli Posted February 28, 2005 CID Share Posted February 28, 2005 You can get more info here, especially on pricing: http://www2.twcnyc.com/index2.cfm?c=internet/rr_premium Then u can decide if its worth it or not for you
sholsten Posted February 28, 2005 Author CID Share Posted February 28, 2005 When they checked into it here; they thought it would be $20 more a month. I check with the link. They just started the service here in January. It is $34 for 6 months and then goes to $44 afterwards.

sholsten Posted February 28, 2005 Author CID Share Posted February 28, 2005 I'm sorry, the prices I stated are for basic and that is with a TV package as well.

xs1 Posted February 28, 2005 CID Share Posted February 28, 2005 Well look at it this way Basic RR: 5000 / 386 Basic RR Real Time : 600 kbs download , 44 kbs upload ^---------$44.00 m/o------------^ Premo RR: 8000/512 Premo RR Real Time: 970 kbs download , 57 -62 kbs upload ^-----------$64.95 (w/cable television) -----------------------^ So if it seems worth it to you, then go for it. I personaly wouldnt.
sholsten Posted February 28, 2005 Author CID Share Posted February 28, 2005 I'll do it if it does only wind up being up to $20 more a month. I won't pay any more than that.

unbreakable9 Posted April 1, 2005 CID Share Posted April 1, 2005 i have premium because i also have the dtv package the nice thing about premium is the download...its noticebly faster...however i still upload at 45-50kbp/s which is total crap. i'll add my speed ratings to this after im done hogging all my pc resources on some other stuff and can get a good reading. sholsten Posted April 12, 2005 Author CID Share Posted April 12, 2005 I'm beginning to wonder if my local TW office is ever going to offer it. They have the business class, but not premium yet.
SmackDaddy Posted April 12, 2005 CID Share Posted April 12, 2005 I think I'll stick with the "basic" until either I *have* to upload faster than 384 up to the blazing
