dlewis23 Posted July 20, 2010 CID Share Posted July 20, 2010 Cox Cable Ultimate (50/5) Tier, $85/month. Clear victory to the Fox—need another reason to support Open Source software? Just to let you know, Safari is powered by Web-Kit which is more open source then firefox. And just because firefox may score higher in a download and upload test doesn't make it better. Firefox still benchmarks slower then Safari and Chrome. Even in Firefox 4, they still don't score 100/100 on acid 3.
mudmanc4 Posted July 20, 2010 CID Share Posted July 20, 2010 Safari gets 100/00 where firefox ends up at 94/100 I s a rule use webkit / safari , on another screen with less important data I'll use firefox.
threegsus Posted July 20, 2010 Author CID Share Posted July 20, 2010 Looking back, I exhibited a most girlie-mannish enthusiasm for what was at best a nominal victory for Firefox—but at least the post unnewguyed me. But I think we ought to admit, at least to ourselves, that testmy.net derived much of its initial cachet from its extensive folio of straightforward, reproducible speed tests...thanks, CA3LE! threegsus Posted July 23, 2010 Author CID Share Posted July 23, 2010 WOW, crazy speeds man. I thought my connection was fast. Well, your Qwest fiber whatever is certainly a lot more symmetrical than my cable; I've found myself waiting around for uploads to finish a bunch more than I ever waited for downloads.
