So beleve it. Its already started with verizon FIOS. Fiber tops out at 800MBPS so far with a distance of about 20,000 FT. The biggest problem is your HD can only right at 150MBPS when SATA2 starts being used then its 300MBPS.

tbaker397 Posted June 5, 2005 CID Share Posted June 5, 2005 lets wait and find out, then pass judgement, but those look like VDSL/VDSL 2 speeds, and yes there is/was an ADSL2, it just kinda flopped... but those speeds seem poor compared to fiber speeds, but over bonded copper, what can i say. johnnie Posted June 6, 2005 CID Share Posted June 6, 2005 will there be a cost increase ?
tbaker397 Posted June 7, 2005 CID Share Posted June 7, 2005 i dont think a standard dsl line could handle 9/3.....but again, will all dsl, the limiting factor is distance. You need to get less than 100 feet from the co for 9/3 service..... i could honestly see it happening.

patrick23 Posted July 9, 2005 CID Share Posted July 9, 2005 I dont care what anyone says... Bellsouth is great. I had all 3 of there dsl's and i currently have Xtreme and couldnt be happier. I had adelphia and 1st of all their customer/tech support is awful, they dont know what they are talkin bout cuz i had them come to my house 3 times for the internet and they never found a problem even though the internet was eather slow or offline. 2nd, the ping i had with them SUCKED (i play cs and my neighbor who has BS ultra, always had lower ping then me). The only good thing w/ cable is the DL speed i always had 500+kb/s. Now for BS everything is awsome, the pings are always low >50, and i constantly DL at 370kb/s. PLUS dsl is more reliable.... brittonv Posted July 27, 2005 CID Share Posted July 27, 2005 I just asked a friend of mine that works for Bellsouth Support if this was true. This was his reply: -- snip -- the story is true, the 6Mx1.5 is gonna be released in a few weeks the 9M circuit is still being Beta tested and we need to figure out what type of router can handle that speed. -- snip -- I highly doubt that if this was untrue that multiple people who "work for Bellsouth" would have the wrong info. Unless we know the same guy V
